Why Kyushu is Japan’s Best Kept Secret (Fukuoka, Beppu & Yufuin)

Hiiiii! I'm so happy you're here. 🌿 After spending so much time in the hustle of Tokyo, we finally packed a bag and headed south to Kyushu. Honestly? I think I found Japan’s best-kept secret. Today’s video is Part I of our road trip, and we’re starting in Fukuoka. From the "rivalry" between Hakata and Fukuoka to stumbling upon the most beautiful traditional streets I’ve ever seen, this city has such a different energy than Tokyo. We’re also heading underground to explore 19th-century European-style malls and finding the actual best cardamom bun in the country (trust me on the Truffle Bakery hype). But the highlight for me was finally slowing down. We stayed at a traditional Ryokan near Mt. Aso, and between the never-ending Kaiseki dinner and the morning soak in a misty outdoor onsen, I felt a kind of peace I haven't felt in a long time. Kyushu is rugged, steaming, and incredibly kind.
