As a mongolian whose lived in the states since I was 14, in UP and chicago and west coast, now almost 40, I feel deeply for our native brothers. I wish to help them become sustainable in food, people in mongolia and southern mongolia (southern mongolia has been colonized by han Chinese, was 80% mongolic people in 1800s now 80% han Chinese settlers/colonizers) are doing this thing called passive geothermal deep winter greenhouses that can be used to grow food in places like dakotas and Alberta's, costly to begin win but we need it badly to achieve food sustainability

i have often said that if the "founding fathers" had truly meant what they wrote, they would have listened to the native elders who knew the land, how to live with it, how to maintain it, and to leave narcissism and greed behind. they didn't. because they could. and it was the worst thing that ever happened to this country...european colonization.
Yet conveniently the #NativeAmericans get ignored still 😢 thank you PBS for keeping these wonderful truths alive❤ our country has been overtaken by greed and oil exploitation it is heartbreaking to see😢
I grew up in Western Washington and I feel so privileged to have gone to a public elementary school that taught me the history of the PNW Native peoples. The story of the raven bringing light is one I remember from childhood, and at age 10 I could describe how the Chinook made everything from cedar. I knew what a potlatch was, and we had the local tribe show us some of their traditional ceremonies at school assemblies. It wasn’t until college that I realized other schools didn’t do that. They all should.
For everyone who enjoyed this documentary remember that as nonnative people we have a responsibility to have our governments respect the native people who’s land we inhabit. If you are in New York write in support of the land back campaign to return Onondaga lake to the care of the Onondaga Nation.

Did he say that native americas’ roots date back 13,000 years? Clearly that assessment no longer stands. An update, given recent discoveries, may be in order.
Mexicans are native american so why are the white kicking them out of this country when their existence pre dates the white man.
The Native American people are so cool and are so intuned with nature.
Indigenous people's have been here for 35,000 years. They've proven it with DNA.
PBS tells stories through a European lens. While this is important and valid it still doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of the REAL history behind all the US tribes. These people are a by product of another people who are indigenous and no, not Mongolian or Siberian people. People need to question everything and stop leaning into feel good stories that still have all of us [humanity] in the dark. The prophecies that are foundational to indigenous people are real but I don't see any of them being brought to LIFE. Ask yourself why that is. Because until the original people unite with their long distant native family the prophecies can not come to pass. And while we wait for UNITY the earth and it's people suffer. #wakeup

The city-state *tlaxcallan* in mexico's valley is also a fine example by greece like democracy in the pre-columbian americas.
Always sceptical hearing Indigenous history through the lens of eurocentricism...in the usa alone, there were more than 500 tribes, 100% Indigenous over 20 million ppl. Now they comprise 1%...or one million...
