Day 1 - We began our journey by arriving at the Guwahati Railway Station, hopped in our cab and started our trip to Shillong. You can get cabs from Paltan Bazaar near the station, they will drop you to Shillong. On the way, we visited the Umiam lake, which is a must visit place. On arriving Shillong we checked in to our hotel. the Shillong club. You can get many hotel options in police bazaar area in Shillong if you want. After which we visited the Don Bosco Museum from there we went to the Elephant Falls, the Air force museum and in the evening we visited the Ward’s Lake, where we enjoyed boating during the sunset. If you wish you can also visit the Shillong Peak. Shillong Nightlife happens at the Police Bazaar, so you can enjoy your shopping, local music and snacking there. These tourist places in Shillong are a must visit. Day 2 - After breakfast, we went a few KMs away from Shillong towards Cherrapunji. On the way we visted Mawkdok Dympep viewpoint and then the Garden of Caves. Which is a must visit if you wish to see waterfalls and caves all at one place. Meghalaya is a place where people come during the monsoon season especially to enjoy the waterfalls. May to july is considered as the peak season in Meghalaya, followed by October to April which is the winter season.
