senior cake decorator here- if your cake is wobbly and unstable enough, you can opt for crumb coating only the sides before popping it in the freezer. this way your layers won't squish down and possibly start to slide off. happy icing!! 🌸

Ok so I’m 13 and I wanted to make a cake for my sister’s 11th birthday and by time I fully got to icing the cake with buttercream it was already 9:00 and I was extremely tired so I put it in the freezer to decorate the next day and now I’m confused on if I just ruined a whole cake or if I should wait for it to get back to room temperature 😭 (I need tips)
So I have a question if I’m using wipped cream how do you crum coat could you use whip cream or does it have to be butter cream to crum coat
