How do you pre select a gear without locking it to the shaft? And if you do, How do you do it without having a clutch on that shaft? I have to look more into this. OK, I found out it's an ingenious shaping of the dogs to help with either de-selection or selection of a gear and twin selector shafts timed perfectly.

That's just a pre-select, trucks have had that for donkeys years.
why's no one talking about quick-shifters? I mean, they been out for years, dual clutch means more parts and space and mass - and does the same thing as the QS... Am I missing suming?
