Celebrity Solstice vs Celebrity Edge… which Celebrity Cruises ship is actually better in 2026? In this special collaboration, Adrian from The Cruise and Travel Guy and Zach The Traveling Man go head-to-head to compare two very different Celebrity Cruises experiences: the newly refurbished Celebrity Solstice and the revolutionary Edge Class, including Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Xcel. After both of us having sailed on Solstice Class and Edge Class ships, we break down the biggest differences between these popular Celebrity cruise ships to help you decide which one is right for your next cruise vacation. Is the traditional cruise ship experience of Solstice Class still the better overall product after its recent refurbishment? Or has Edge Class truly changed cruising for the better with its modern design, Infinite Veranda cabins, innovative dining concepts and cutting-edge venues? Throughout this video, we compare: * Celebrity Solstice vs Celebrity Edge * Celebrity Solstice vs Celebrity Xcel * Solstice Class vs Edge Class * Regular balcony cabins vs Infinite Veranda balconies * Dining and specialty restaurants * Indoor spaces including bars and lounges * Deck space and outdoor areas including the brand new Sunset Park * Traditional vs modern cruise ship design We also score each category along the way to determine an overall winner… although we quickly discover that Zach and I don’t entirely agree on what makes a great cruise ship. If you’re researching your next Celebrity cruise then this video should help you decide which Celebrity Cruises experience best suits your travel style. We are Elite Plus on Celebrity, late 60’s early 70’s and do not like the Edge class. Zack you talk about the atrium and the light, while we would agree, what’s missing is any view of the water. The Edge class are new and modern, and look like a very nice hotel. We don’t like the look on a ship. We want to see the water as we move not the inside of a Martini Bar. The Solstice class need upgrades, we agree. We hated the infinite veranda, might as well have been in an inside cabin for the amount of time we had to keep the blind down to avoid the sun. We do not like the 4 separate dining rooms. We admit we are older, we found the noise on Edge class constant. No quiet areas. We will not sail on an Edge class ship, so if Celebrity does improve the Solstice class, we will move to another cruise line.
Two of my favorite cruisetubers its the crossover episode I never knew I needed.
I have zero desire for an infinite veranda if that helps.
Team Solstice all the way! It’s the cabins - no way infinite veranda is a balcony and I love a balcony.
Great collab, it shows a great comparison between edge and solstice class ships! Having sailed both classes they are both beautiful and very different vibes which you both highlight very well..
Team Solstice….Not enough open air places on Edge class
We have been on many Edge Class including the Xcel and many Solstice Class, going on Solstice in September and can’t wait. We feel the Solstice is more relaxed. Edge Class, especially Xcel is very loud for instance in the Bazaar it was crazy loud even during the day. Everyone is rushing to get to the Bazaar or the Club 1-1/2 hours ahead of a show just to get a seat, then it’s standing room only. None of that on Solstice Class which I love. It feels like home to us on Solstice class, Ensemble Lounge, Martini Bar, Sky Lounge , etc. Don’t get me wrong, we loved Edge Class and have Ascent booked. We especially love the 4 dining venues (MDR) and Eden Cafe. I don’t mind the infinite veranda but do prefer traditional. Bottom line: prefer Solstice but would sail on either in a heartbeat!
Hi Adrian and Zach, thanks, really enjoyed both comparisons, have been on both Edge and Solstice. Have to give my vote to Solstice! Edge is a beautiful ship, but Solstice just has something special about her.
Alright… time to settle this! Are you TEAM SOLSTICE or TEAM EDGE CLASS? Drop your thoughts below. We’re genuinely curious where everyone lands on this debate!
I’d love to sail on Edge class Maybe one day
Love these collab videos ❤❤
Sailed on both in recent years: Suez Canal (Rome to Dubai) on Edge about 3 years ago and Sydney to Singapore on Solstice last fall, right before the re-fit. There are reasons to like the Edge class, but we both prefer the Solstice class (balcony is a huge part of that). We were heartbroken to hear that Solstice (and eventually the other Solstice class ships that currently have them) was going to lose the glass-blowing space during the refit; that was one of our favorite things on the Solstice class.
Team Explora! Thanks for the comparison - great job!
My wife and I have sailed on both and enjoyed both. I think for us it depends on itinerary, cost, and what we’re looking for at the time (more modern or “classic” type experience). Also demographics enter in as I think Edge skews younger than Solstice, which attracts people wanting a quieter, more relaxed vibe.
Team solstice all the way Have sailed on edge, but found if all to busy. Solstice was home and is better after the refit, great planing of the sunset park and parlour.
Love this collaboration — it was so great to see you two together. Perhaps you can partner on something again in the future. I think I would be more attracted to the traditional atmosphere of the Solstice class, but it is unfortunate that the state rooms did not get equal focus in the refit. I do like to feel more that I am on an actual seagoing vessel versus a floating resort.
Haha you 2 are good together ‼️ Its The Edge for me..best deal is on the 1st December 2026..come aboard 🎉🎉
Thank you Gentlemen for your takes on the GenPop space. What are your thoughts on the Retreat space?
That was a pointless video, sorry. One guy hadn’t been on both ships. So why bother with a one sided comparison.
Thank you Adrian and Zach, a great discussion. Look forward to you doing more collaborations - I hope:)
