I’m headed to Alaska for the first time ever in May!! I’m so excited and your videos have been very helpful. Flying from the east coast to Vancouver to cruise for 7 days inside passage and back to Vancouver! We made sure to arrive two days prior to tour Vancouver and an overnight on disembarkation day. It’s expensive but we saved for two years to do this big trip! Worth all the over time my husband andI worked 😂
I've already been to Alaska twice. Our first adventure was Holland America's Cruise tour. Seeing the inland areas was quite educational. Our second trip was with Princess. This summer I have booked the Holland America 28-day grand adventure. I've been in the planning mode for several months in advance.
We took our first Alaska cruise last May on the Celebrity Edge and it was amazing. We experienced almost no rain - just a brief light drizzle on the way to Dawes Glacier. And it was a sunny day in Ketchikan.
We have done two Alaska cruises. Round trip from Vancouver for a family trip aboard Disney, and a Fairbanks to Vancouver cruise/tour with Holland America. Outstanding experiences!
We did our interior Alaska tour in September. I would choose this month for a cruise also. We packed clothes for layering. Yes, it rained at Denali, but it was a fantastic trip.
Always go in Ma6 or September. No kids. There in school.
A comment on your passport info segment. For a good portion of the cruise you will be sailing through Canadian territory and if (God forbid) you have to be hoisted off the ship for medical needs, you will be dropped off at a Canadian location. A passport is a real good thing to have. While SAR (Search and Rescue) evacuations are not charged to you, travel insurance is a good idea. Canadian health care costs are less than the US, but can still cost you some $$. Oh yeah... if you are on an Alaska cruise and a big yellow helicopter pulls somebody off your ship... that helicopter is from the Royal Canadian Air Force 442 Squadron flying out of Comox, BC

Very well done ! I’ve lived all over Alaska since 1961. I’ve been from Barrow & the north slope, Nome, Unalakleet, Bethel,McGrath, Dutch Harbor, Kodiak Island, Sitka, Fairbanks, Anchorage, Delta Junction and many more. I’ve fished from my own boat in Seward, Homer, Whittier, Valdez and Cordova. You haven’t seen Alaska until you Fly to some of these locations. I’ve walked in gold mines, been on gold dredges, found Jade rocks, hunted moose, caribou, birds, and even chased by a bear on my trail bike. Walked into WW2 pill boxes built to shoot at the Japanese navy, played in a B29 bomber that crashed in 1944 , flown on several of the aircraft that are in museums. BUT , I still would enjoy a cruise up the inside passage someday. Thank you

Alaska is amazing! I wish I could cruise Alaska every year. I hate the cold, but I loved it. Royal Caribbean had numerous nature talks daily, had nature trivia. Alaska is definitely a destination cruise vs the ship being the attraction! It was 70 degrees during the day when I went last year.
May was great for us. Beautiful weather. Maybe just go lucky, but I'll take. Great trip.

You’re video just made me feel better. We just booked a 28-Day Legendary Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice cruise with an inside cabin. The cost between inside and balcony was significantly higher and actually the difference cover all our flights and bucket list shore excursions.
I'm going this September for the first time and I'm so excited, but also really nervous that the weather will be awful. It's for both my husband's birthday and mine, but I was more excited about Alaska than him so I really want it to be a good trip for him.

Definitely agree with all of this! We took our first Alaska cruise May 2023 thinking it’s one and done. We returned August 2025 and found although the trip was wonderful it was more crowded ashore and lots of kids onboard. (We came with one so not a complaint, just an observation). Ketchikan was a complete washout for us May 2023 and 80 degrees and sunny last August. I realized I almost prefer some overcast at least some of the time in Alaska. We are now looking at the possibility of cruising to Alaska again in September 2026 😝
