Coding bootcamp/ hackathons learning the python computer language?? Python AFTER Javascript is learning soup & soup shapes 🤗
It is really hard to choose one there are tones of them… I am browsing to see how should one?
I have not attended a bootcamp. I took the traditional route. So, my thought is that: Isn't kicking out people that aren't performing well a good thing. I don't see why that should call into question their placement numbers. If they place 79% of capable, motivated people, that is a great number. The military from which I assume the word bootcamp is borrowed does the same. If you appear to be hopeless as a potential soldier based on your performance in the program, they kick you out I am told.
I am also Johnny K, can I do what you do?
Not worth it in 2025. People like yourself promoting the idea is just survivorship bias. Nobody goes on YouTube or LinkedIn to say they didn’t get a job after a year of trying.
I was one of the bottom students in my bootcamp. Despite this, the friends there I met referred me to jobs. First was the brother of the owner. I got a job after only 2 months out of bootcamp. Second was with a friend at his marketing agency. I would have left the field if I didn’t go to bootcamp. I’m sure my network wouldn’t have been as strong if I went to traditional schooling. I’m now a Wordpress developer. I don’t get paid much, but the freelance jobs are countless. I work this, along with my full time.
AI will not replace hair dressers! Just sayin.
With all the information you know, what coding bootcamps would you recommend?
I work in tech as a clinical researcher and have always been interested in learning to code. Being able to work on the wearables that I develop studies for is my goal! In your opinion, what are the best bootcamps in 2025?
I went to hack reactor in 2015. Back then, I think out of 60 students only 3 didn’t get a coding job afterwards. I eventually also made it to meta and now make 650k a year as a senior. The coding bootcamp changed my life.
