Catcher is the most underrated position in sports.

Kirk's framing transferred to Heineman and Valenzuela relatively well and its a crucial power to have. It can make up for minor mistakes the pitcher makes. But in all seriousness, we need more Wins and less fumbles.

If only that translated to wins.

I remember watching the season opening game against the As and thinking "oh, this is why framing is still important" because Kirk did such an amazing job of framing, and it's so nice to see that the amazing framing has continued in his absence. Valenzuela and Heineman are both doing a great job with catching and framing pitches

maybe rbi's strikeouts, runs, era, hits are the stats that matter, because all of these new metrics proves it means nothing when it comes to wins

Tho other side of the coin..is that this could mean we have a bunch of pitchers who miss the strike zone 🙄..Go jays go

Framing is a skill that should remain part of the game. Better catcher = better team.

With all that framing, it’s hard to believe they are 9.5 games out of first place

Aren’t we like five games under 500?

Framing will be a thing of the past, they will at some point goes full ABS

I meaning framing important but a great eye telling a batter or eagle eyed batter is gonna hold a lot more value. Framing only works when you can edge a few calls to get teams to waste the challenges.

It’d be nice if it help them win some games. So what does it matter if they’re number one framing if they’re number four in the division

Just the fact that there is so many missed calls says it all , there is no way an umpire can get anywhere near 100% on these close calls , the zone would put it in the pitchers hands but the league obviously doesn't want that

I think it has more to do with the high number of strikeouts, and the percentage of strikes thrown, but you are maybe not wrong, necessarily.
