Thank you for mentioning the African countries that also aided in the war, we're usually forgotten and never spoken about so it's actually refreshing to see even images of the soldiers, especially Nigeria.
0:57 Perfectly described the root of every single problem this world has
I could listen to Dan snow talk military history all day
6:10 no disrespect but i seriously doubt ppl were calling it the first world war thinking they'd have another one😭
What a fantastic video. My great-grandfather fought for Canada during the First World War. We still have a portrait painting of him posing in his uniform in a kilt.
It’s such a priviledge learning with you, Dan. Deepest thanks 🤩😍
Dan, this was a great and informative video, but you forgot about the trench rats that infested the trenches and how the soldiers had to deal with them. The rats were huge and soldiers had to be careful when sleeping, so that a rat would not eat an appendage.
Interesting to know Dan's great-grandfather was in the Canadian Forces during WWI. As a proud Canadian, I always love hearing others stories and histories related to Canada.
Look at me! I'm not going to war right this very moment!
As an extremely amateur history lover, I enjoyed this thoroughly.
20:50 I meannnn they were effective. So effective in fact, that they were lucky that the Geneva Convention didn't exist that time...
Canada kicked ass in WW 1! I have a book of love letters written during WW 1. It’s lovely the way they would express feelings for one another.
That speech about how we don’t HAVE to go to war was great. It’s a stance I’ve held since I started studying my degree, there’s never really been a need for war, it was always forced
Nobody truly wins a war like ww1...amazingly put
Please more ww1 content ❤
To hell with Ai! Love your work Mr. Snow!
