You can support us here (and grab our NEW merch too!): https://brewsolves.com/ This is our most ambitious video yet, taking several months to put together from start to finish. The Dyatlov Pass Incident. Nine Russian hikers, found dead under suspicious circumstances. A mystery many of you are probably familiar with, yet for over 60 years, it has evaded a widely accepted explanation. This is in part because nearly every time someone tries to explain it, they base their theories on common myths, inaccuracies, and misinterpretations of the facts. It’s almost the rule, not the exception, for there to be mistakes or crucial details left out. And they often leave major questions unanswered. Whether it’s radiation, burns, signs of torture, strange photographs, a missing tongue, missing eyes, a suspicious member of the group, government cover-up, or glowing lights in the sky… So despite the expanse of media coverage out there, we felt the need to create a comprehensive video that does it right. In the months our small team poured into this project, we did extensive research, looked at every angle we could, and explored the most often cited theories. Using science and original case documents, this video will attempt to clear up all the misconceptions and myths that have been told to you over the years, fill in the gaps, and give you a picture of what actually happened to the Dyatlov Pass hikers—to maybe… finally… put this mystery to rest. Once and for all. Let's get into it. They should've just waited another year😭
It's even funnier if they did see a yeti but he had nothing to do with their deaths.
Good explanation, but you left out the part about how heat from a UFO engine melted and weakened the ice so Bigfoot could push it down hill, starting the avalanche. And the next day Chupacabra came and ate all their eyeballs while Mothman watched and cheered him on.
It's terrifying to think that the group never made a wrong move yet the nature was still too much to handle.
I appreciate you taking the time to tell us who each victim was before they died, may they rest in peace.
I didn't have anything to do with it. That's for sure. I wasn't even there that day.
i flinched at that number
We didn’t have time to go over every detail or myth in the video, so we put together this FAQ to hopefully cover anything that might be missing: Q: What about the eyes and tongues missing? (added) A: Only Lyudmilla and Semyon were missing their eyes, and only Lyudmilla was missing her tongue. For Semyon, it was likely just animals, as there are marks around the eyes. It’s a common thing for bodies in the wild. For Lyudmilla, we address that here along with her tongue (likely it was because her face decomposed in the water): 59:35 Q: Why were hikers’ skin discolored? A: Most of the skin was described as tan and brown, some blue and red. Later reports have changed it to ‘orange’. Some thought this meant radiation or poisoning. But it’s caused by being exposed to the elements. Windburn, freezing temperatures, and likely extreme sunburn due to the high altitude. Q: Why did officials tell people to not drink from nearby wells after the incident? A: There’s no documentation showing this. It’s a myth. Q: Why were animals found dead in the area? A: While tied to the above myth, there was a fairly common epidemic of an infectious disease killing cattle around the time in the area, which some may have erroneously associated with the incident. Q: What about the photo of the orb? A: On frame 34 (the last frame) of Krivonishenko’s camera, there’s a blurry white orb. This is just a photo taken by the lab technician so they could rewind the film. It’s likely caused by the lens being partially covered, not focused on anything, or the lens being off the camera. Q: Did Yuri Doroshenko fall from the cedar tree? A: There’s no evidence he had any falling injuries. Q: Why was there grey liquid around Yuri Doroshenko’s mouth? A: Some suspect it’s due to poisoning or a fall. But the liquid is commonly a sign of hypothermic lung edema, which can be caused by extreme hypothermia. Q: Why were there clothes high up in the cedar tree branches? A: There were no clothes in the cedar tree. However, there were clothes around the cedar tree area. Likely caused by switching out clothes or taking clothes off of the two bodies, as mentioned in the video. Q: Why were there clothes found at the den? A: Many of those clothing items were found on top of the branches of the shelter floor, likely used as seats while in the den. If you still have any unanswered questions, feel free to ask them below!
I’m sticking with Sasquatch being startled by a ufo, running into camp and scaring the team to death.
I say they should've waited 2 years to make that discovery
What scares me the most about this case is that all of the Russian’s in the group were extremely skilled and talented with anything to do with the wilderness.
As a Russian speaker born in USSR I've seen a lot of true crimes & documentaries on the Dyatlov Pass, and I can say in all confidence that the Brew team did a truly outstanding job!! The coverage of theories and facts is exhaustive, the quality of production is top-notch (as always with Brew). And most importantly, despite the fact that many true crimes exist on this topic, you guys still made it very engaging to watch and did it in a very respectful manner, Bravo!
Normally I choose a video to watch because I find the topic interesting, but when it's Brew I KNOW that, regardless of the topic, it'll be a great listen. It's always a good day when Brew uploads.
"the most grounded theories often offer the least satisfaction" This is the most powerful sentence of the entire video imo. We almost always want the most explosive / craziest stories but sometimes, the truth is terrifyingly simple. Eg. perhaps the sodder children just died in the fire or perhaps aaron kosminski was jack the ripper.
INSTANTLY subscribed just because youre anti ai. far better than most people on youtube nowadays
This is the first time I've actually seen the victims be described like actual people. It's emotionally devastating, to remember how young they were. But humanizing them is so, so important ❤
Ooh! I remember going into a hyperfixation rabbit hole over this when I was in college! Thanks, Brew! Edit: Also, HOLY _WOW,_ IT'S ALMOST AN HOUR AND A HALF LONG. YES.
Everyone talks about "spelunker with wife and kids when they see cave of instant excruciating death" But nobody talks about hikers when they see "peak of endless torment during storm of no return"
my family has lived in remote northern communities for decades so I know hypothermia... it hits faster than people think or is shown in popular media. In neg 40 it's minutes just MINUTES before your mind goes.... and make no mistake it goes first. If you're in better shape sometimes you have to fight your friends and family because they can't think and are making dangerous and crazy choices. It's a horrible and impossible situation.
I watched like 17 videos about this incident a few years ago and only ONE mentioned that members of the expedition actually worked with radiation which explains why some of their clothing was irradiated lol.
