The impressment of American sailors into the Royal Navy desperate to crew their ships in the ongoing war against Napoleon, the question if the US could trade with Britain and France at the same time and thus profit of the war, all came to a head after failed negotiations. » SUPPORT US https://patreon.com/realtimehistory https://nebula.tv/realtimehistory » THANK YOU TO OUR CO-PRODUCERS Mike Gloudemans, George Durrett, Luis Gonzalez, Mike Cumings, Jr., Charles Shananaquet II, Joel Sanchez, shane cawthon, Andrew Thomas Mooney, Chris Rohde, Bruce D, Jim Frame, Glenn Sugden, Lisa Anderson, George Haramundanis, G S, Kempf Mario, jhgBo8jigr hzufjkl, Gayle Elizabeth, Glenn G Webb, Stephen D Nugent PsyD, Daniel L Garza, Chris Daley, Simen Røste, Amy Williams, Jim F Barlow, Taylor Allen, Adam Smith, Josh Bruder, Konstantin Bredyuk, Richard L Benkin, Matt, Rob Carle, Murray Godfrey, Jan, Gage Manthey, Theodore Patrick Shannon, Bruce G. I did my coop in Highscool at Fort Malden (Amherstburg) back in 2013. The Kings Navy yard Park is also nice to visit. They have cannon on display. The gardens are nice too. I moved some years ago and now im about an hour from Fort Henry (Kingston)
When was the war of 1812 ?🤔
What caused the war of 1812 was Thoma Jefferson finding his mom's picture on a french postcard in 1811
Height of sailors none over 5'9" !
The British couldn't get over getting whupped the first time.
Great Documentary .Unfortunate that you didn’t finish it properly instead of chopping it off rather abruptly. In MY opinion.
excellent
The Brits provoked America into war as leverage to reinstate the Bank of the United States which they they controlled and had denied its charter the year prior to the outbreak of war.
And 214 years later, Charles says to US "and without us, you’d be speaking French"
5:07 where have I heard this before?
The Americans underestimated the British loyalist's, just as the modern Americans have underestimated Iran. Some people never learn.
A documentary about the war of 1812 that ends before the War of !812.
"A British-born American might still be impressed." Yank sees HMS Leopard: "A'ight, I'm in."
The first charter the United States had with a central bank expired in 1811. Congress didn’t renew it, and then the war of 1812 happened. Kind of like how everyone that tries to sell oil in something other than US dollars gets bombed. The people that control the banks in New York controlled the banks in London long before that.
Why-on-dot not We-on-dot!!
Loved the content, keep it coming!
Also the refusal of the British to evacuate forts in the Old North West.
They had already named it and it was November.....
{ " What Caused the War of 1812? " }<<< I have no idea because Johnny Horton didn't make a song about that war....
Love history and this was interesting
