After catching 22 flights in the last 6 months, these are our top 10 tips for surviving a long haul flight👇 💺 Choose Your Seat Wisely – Window seats are great for sleeping, while aisle seats give you easy access to move around. Avoid seats near the bathrooms, as these will be busier, and those over or behind the wing (louder). 👕 Dress Comfortably – It’s an airport runway, not a fashion runway! Layers are your best friend, as temperatures can fluctuate. Opt for loose, breathable clothing that you can sleep in, and comfy shoes you can slip on/off. 💦 Stay Hydrated – Airplane cabins are notoriously dry. Bring a reusable water bottle and ask the flight attendants to fill it up. Avoid too much caffeine and alcohol as these can dehydrate you further. 🎧 Bring Noise-Canceling Headphones – Drown out crying babies, chatty seatmates, and engine noise with a good pair of noise-canceling headphones. Your ears (and sanity) will thank you! 🪥 Freshen Up Mid-Flight – Pack a small toiletry bag with essentials (toothbrush, moisturiser and deodorant). Also pack some wet wipes to wipe down your tray table and seat - they are dirtier than you think! 😴 Adjust to the Destination’s Time Zone – Try to eat and sleep according to your destination’s time zone. This will help reduce jet lag. 🤸♀️ Move Around & Stretch – Combat stiffness and sore joints by getting up every 2-3 hours to stretch your legs. 🎬 Pack Your Own Entertainment – Don’t rely on the in-flight entertainment. Load up your phone, tablet, or Kindle with movies, shows, podcasts, and books (and remember your chargers!) 🍿 Bring your own snacks – Protein bars, nuts or fruit are good options. Airline food isn’t always great. 😬 If you’re a nervous flyer (like Anna!), bring along some rescue remedy and practice deep breathing (particularly during turbulence). Remember you’re safer in a plane than you are on the car ride to the airport!
