On that day I made a temple tour with my loca guide Ravi. Then we saw a lady who sold fruits and I decided to buy some fresh guava from here. I refused the salt and chili poweder on top of my guava. And the lady did not have change. But the guava tasted delicious and gave me a power boost for the exploration of the remaining temples.

Imagine hearing, “no money, no money.” No change, no change. That will drive me crazy. I am brown (guyanese) so if I don’t open my mouth then probably I wouldn’t be mistaken for a rich Canadian. 😂 people are misunderstanding my comment. 😞 For all of you who are misinterpreting my comment. The point is, if you are from Canada, United States or parts of Europe and you go as tourist to a poorer country, the locals selling will think you have money. Why? As one store owner in the Dominican explained to me, if you can afford to buy a plane ticket to come tour their country, it doesn’t matter how hard you work to save up for that trip, it’s more than what a local can make in a year. Do people understand now? Secondly, I said that I would blend in with the locals in India as long as I don’t open my mouth because my skin is brown but once I opened my mouth they will know I am a foreigner.
But I really hate it as an citizen from India,how the beggars and other people take advantage of foreigners and charge them more money then usual.I have seen it like literally every time.
The problem isn’t the money. Most tourist will be more than happy to give tips. It’s the dishonesty and the attempt to scam that pisses em on. Even I won’t give a single penny if someone’s intention was to scam me. Stop defending dishonest actions just because you belong to the same country.

You will always keep the change to use next time you buy street snacks. Definitely, you will have change for that because all the shop owners say they have no change. So, you should use a maximum of 50 rupees for street snacks.
