JUSTICE FOR THAT RANDOM INDIAN STREET SNACK
In the 1980s, the Indian botanists unsuccessfully tried to find more information on Ramkand. Later in 1994, the Shivaji University, Kolhapur resorted to DNA fingerprinting to identify Ramkand plant and concluded that it is a variety of Agave americana. The anatomical study showed the plant is a typical monocotyledonous vascular bundle arrangement. However, this added more confusion, as monocots have adventitious roots and not a tap root system.(edit i did not wanna grab attention i did just want to give people more information by opening the comment. I did not mean to frustrate anybody by copy pasting from wikipedia)
I love how very less number of people noticed the words in the newspaper...

It is actually core of a palm tree, they harvested, debarked, carved and colored so it doesn't looks like a core palm tree. You can see many dots on it thin slices that actually it's xylem and floem that a characteristic of palm tree.
Love you bro❤ Welcome to India 🇮🇳
For those who don't know, this is the Root of a Agave variety and many vendors fool people by selling these with funny names. When agave plant gives it's tall flower shoots that reaches 20 feet, the stem becomes a pillar to hold it's structure. that is when this root gets harvested. oney water is also made by choping off the flower stalk and burrowing a small cylindrical hole and it releases waterjust like Palm Tapping (toddy).
