You've reached the end
Woman don’t go out at night in Morocco from a local don’t risk it
You shouldn't hesitate to make such videos
My friend is from Morocco and she told me that her family doesn’t let her walk outside alone, she always has to be accompanied by a male cousin or family member for her safety.
Boys, let's become better men?
As a French women, it's a known fact in France to NEVER go alone in Paris, especially at night. There are so much bad or drunk people around that everything can happen to you. And don't expect people to help you, most of the time they won't. NEVER go to dark alleyways where no one can see you alone. Stay in big alleys where there are lots of people and carry a little deodorant with you in a place you can reach fast and easily. Paris is not the place to go alone in France. There are so much beautiful and safer (not entirely safe) place in France, don't go for Paris if you're alone. What you see on the internet isn't real.
I have lived in Morocco my entire life and PLEASE, do not go out at night if you don’t need to (unfortunately, it’s for women I’m talking about)
You honestly don’t expect Paris to be a bad place because it’s so romanticised in the media but I’ve been three times and aways had a bad experience. The first time I was in Paris someone asked for a lighter and I don’t smoke so I said “no sorry” so they grabbed my camera and ran off. The second time I was mugged for my phone and wallet at knifepoint when it was dark outside. The last was some crazy person driving in the opposite side of the pavement, nobody was injured but the person was clearly unhinged.
As a female, no matter where I am, I always avoid dark, lonely places, especially in male dominated societies/countries, as a principle.
My tip traveling solo as a female: Be back to your hotel/hostel well before dark. Skip the nightlife. It’s not worth it. I’ve backpacked through several countries in Europe, made this an important rule, and had no problems. It was great spending my evenings reading, doing laundry, planning the next day, etc. and still met a lot of cool people. Stay safe!
Gurrrlll, I’m a man and even I felt unsafe in Paris. It’s like one of those cities which polarises people to extremes. Stay safe!
We need more of these honest videos…we shouldn’t be scared to travel but we should be aware of the dangers.
In Paris at night, dont go to dark corner. Anything can happen. When i worked as a cashier in Carrefour, i always finished at 10 pm (closing shift). My frmale coworkers were always accompanied by others to go back home. Be safe out there. Paris is everything not just love city.
Don’t hesitate to tell your stories. It’s good to warn people, and you have first hand experience and that is very valuable. The next thing, no matter who you are, even a big gym bro… DO NOT go around random unfamiliar streets at night. Stay safe and take as many precautions as you can.
as a morocan please for god sake don't let women go outside on night i always go with my mom day and night one time a man was touching her and thank god i was there to confront him edit:my record was 200 likes thx ig
Thanks for sharing your experience about Paris! It validates my horror story so much. Last year I went there to meet my boyfriend for Christmas, and met a guy on the flight. This guy kept following me through migration check, and even in the metro. I usually meet lots of people so I didn't think much of it. However, he followed me down a lonely alley, cornered me and tried to force grab me to kiss him. I was so shocked and afraid of being murdered (his entire personality changed in 10 seconds, and I realized I was a small vulnerable woman all alone). I kept saying "No" and people only looked. I ran to the nearest subway, with 20 kgs of luggage slamming against the stairs, and burst out crying with no internet to contact my boyfriend. The worst was how I approached people for wifi hotspot (it was an emergency) and literally everyone was so cold. They kept giving me weird looks despite me explaining what had happened and looking very distressed and clearly about to cry. I also speak French so there was no communication gap; I can't even imagine how a first-time tourist would feel. It was the coldest human experience I've ever had. Absolutely no sense of security, even in the masses.
Coming from a young female traveller, the world NEEDS THIS. WE NEED TO know this before we actually experience such things first hand. Of course educating myself of the place beforehand is my responsibility, but sharing realtime experiences is precious info. Thank you
I've been to Paris a couple of times with about 3 years between trips and each time the city has gotten worse and worse and felt more and more unsafe
As a female solo traveller, I also highly recommend having a person you stay in touch with frequently through your journey (either a friend or family member). I always text or call my mom when I get back to hotels/hostels so that someone knew I was safe and well. This way, someone will definitely be alarmed if you stop reaching out for any reason and can maybe call local authorities if you’re in an unfortunate situation. While I actively avoid going outside after dark, my train got delayed one time and I had to walk back to my hostel at night, I also recommend calling someone in a situation like that as it may scare people off, since you’re technically not alone. Enjoy your travels but stay safe everyone <33
I did a cooking course for 8 weeks in Paris this summer and so many of my course mates that came from all corners of the world were either harassed or straight up robbed in the middle of the day even. And no one would help or react from people around. Parisians were even rude to themselves, like elderly people crossing the street and not making it in time of greenlight. Instead of helping them they would curse and shout. At the ELDERLY! My classmates were shocked by this inhumanity. A few times I tried taking metro home in the early evening and would always leave half way to get an uber because some strange people get into and my gut feeling would just turn on. And I've been working as a flight crew for more than 10 years and travelled to really dangerous places in the world, backpacked also a lot as a solo female, but never imagined beautiful Paris has become such... Always be vigilant and listen to your gut feeling, man or woman. Stay safe everyone
When i was 13 i cracked my head open on holiday in moroco, i needed to go to hospital but there was only my mum to take me and the hotel owner said we were not to go out at night on our own and told my mum to stay at the hotel while he carried me through the streets with 2 of his friends as bodyguards 😂at first i though it was really over the top but i am so glad it wasnt just me qnd my mum. A load of men who clearly werent just hanging around followed us the whole way. And all 3 of the guys were feeling very off.
