Fnaf lore:It all starts with two men: William Afton (the business mind/serial killer) and Henry Emily (the engineering genius). They open Fredbear’s Family Diner, featuring two "springlock" suits: Fredbear and Spring Bonnie. These suits could be worn by humans or operate as animatronics. 2. The First Incidents The Charlotte Emily Murder: Outside the diner, William Afton murders Henry’s daughter, Charlotte. Her spirit goes on to inhabit The Puppet, who becomes the protector of future victims. The Crying Child (FNAF 4): William’s youngest son is terrified of the animatronics. In a tragic prank gone wrong (the "Bite of '83"), his older brother Michael accidentally causes Fredbear to crush the child’s head. This is often seen as William’s breaking point. 3. Circus Baby’s and the Missing Children Circus Baby’s Pizza World: William builds "Funtime" animatronics designed specifically to capture children. His own daughter, Elizabeth, is killed by Circus Baby and possesses her. The Missing Children’s Incident (MCI): At the new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, William lures five children into a back room wearing the Spring Bonnie suit. They are never found. The "Save Them" Era (FNAF 2 & 1) 1987: A new, high-tech Freddy’s opens with "Toy" animatronics. Another set of murders occurs. This location closes after the "Bite of '87," where an animatronic bites a security guard's frontal lobe. The 90s: The original Freddy’s re-opens on a budget (the setting of the first game). The possessed animatronics attack night guard Michael Afton (William's son, working under a fake name), mistaking him for his father. 5. The Downfall of William Afton William returns to the abandoned FNAF 1 location to destroy the animatronics and "erase the evidence." Instead, the ghosts of his victims corner him. In a panic, he jumps into the old Spring Bonnie suit. The springlocks fail, crushing him inside. He doesn't die, though; he becomes Springtrap, trapped in a sealed room for 30 years. 6. The "End" (FNAF 3 & Pizzeria Simulator) Fazbear’s Fright: 30 years later, a horror attraction opens. Springtrap is found and brought in. The building eventually burns down, but he escapes. The Final Trap: Henry Emily lures all remaining possessed entities—Springtrap, Scrap Baby (Elizabeth), Molten Freddy (the other funtimes), and the Puppet—into a fake "dummy" pizzeria. He sets the building on fire, intending to release all the spirits and die alongside his creations. 7. The Modern Era (Help Wanted, Security Breach) Despite the fire, a digital version of William's consciousness (Glitchtrap) survives via circuit boards scanned into a VR game. He corrupts a beta tester named Vanny, leading to the events at the massive Mega Pizzaplex, where a new protagonist, Gregory, has to survive a neon-soaked nightmare.
