Looks good .yea some like it with more liquid many donβt depends on the person. Also they use parboiled rice like uncle Benβs rice.

It's okay it was your first time....but you should let the stew fry a little longer before adding the rice.....you didn't add a lot of broth....the problem I saw was that you didn't let it cook till the moistures dries out....you keep cooking and stirring untill all the water has dried out untill your heart's desires....that's why it tastes good but you just needed a little bit more patience....or enough patience to achieve the result you want and need ....
