This was the cost per person for a private, fully customized safari trip to Kenya 🇰🇪. We visited three national parks: Nairobi National Park, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli. Where can you save some 💸 when planning a safari trip? 💰 Use a local guide or agency to help you plan your trip instead of booking through a tour operator or agency in your country. We went with @safari_strides1 , recommended by @trawellkat , and had an amazing time. Go with recommendations from people you trust—or you know, mine! 💰 Choose accommodation according to your budget. You can sleep in a tent or a luxury lodge—there are countless options at varying prices. For example, both beautiful lodges I stayed in had swimming pools. Do you think I went in? Absolutely not—there was no time for that! Accommodations outside the parks are also usually cheaper, which is great if you're on a budget. 💰 Travel during the off-season. Accommodation is significantly cheaper outside of peak periods. 💰 Consider smaller or less well-known parks. The bigger and more famous the park or reserve, the more expensive it will be. Choose wisely where you'd like to go. 💰 Group tours or shared vehicles can save you a lot, though they're not for everyone. I opted for a private tour, and it was fantastic because we could stop wherever we wanted and just take it all in. 💰 Choose road transportation over flights. Some parks are very far apart, so flying can be quicker but also much more expensive. Road transport saves a bunch, though you'll spend long hours on the road.
