Exploring New Zealand’s Wild Flavors, Māori Culture & Volcanic Hot Spring Cooking | DIRT New Zealand

In this episode of DIRT, the crew goes full circle—meeting Muttonbird chefs Emma and George on the South Island before hopping up to Raglan and working their way back down. Water-skiing next to snow-capped mountains, cooking in hot springs the Māori way, and stargazing at Wairarapa Dark Sky Reserve are all on the itinerary. But it’s the final “Feed” done Kiwi-style that makes one thing clear—in this unique and stunning land, nobody’s a stranger for long. New Zealand is by far one of the best natural countries in the world. The people there are soo amazing and very friendly. Was there in North Island, Wellington in a small suburb called Pourirua (Tawa) when I was a kiddo and wish to visit again with my wife someday soon. ❤❤❤❤❤

Dudes, thanks for the roadie. As a Kiwi, I’m not surprised that I know at least a handful of the folks you filmed along the way. It does define NZ that none of them would think to talk about it. And you left the one true Kiwi cuisine nodded too, but not disclosed. Kapai bro.

The best video capture of New Zealand I've see. Beautiful, dramatic drone footage of NZ nature and scenery. It's just stunning. NZ on a different perspective compared to a typical blogging videos. I'm so happy to call New Zealand home

The title DIRT New Zealand was both intriguing and provocative. Of course this nosey NZer had to check it out:) I was amazed to find that it was a lot like Bourdain's in essence., whom i had followed closely. The fact that you captured our home flavour not just food but our people too (that felt natural and meaningful) is a huge positive. The whanau / family, and kai / food expresses the whole - hearted meaning of manaakitanga / hospitality. I was particularly impressed with the couple in Tora who placed Rahui / ban on fishing practices in certain areas during reproduction and incubation /egg carrying times which follows the intent of both Government and Maori Conservation. Can't wait to find out where you have been and where you are going to next. Cheers Huckberry and thank you 🥂🥙👍

Bloody hell...You Sir did my beautiful country justice. It really looked like you and your team were part of the whanau here. Big respect for your pronunciation with Te Reo. Every stop looked and felt like home, you captured us 100% Mauri Ora

The sense of community and friendship and bonding over food in this docu had me emotional in a good way. Despite everything going on, the world is still beautiful and people are still loving, kind and warm. Thank you for this😊

As a die hard Bourdain watcher, I was came in skeptical that Dirt would be up to comparison but after binge watching the whole season, I can unequivocally say Dirt is INCREDIBLE! Josh is an amazing host, his authenticity oozes from the screen and his genuine interest in the place and people makes for beautiful conversations. I feel like I am on the adventure with the crew, bravo 👏🏼 Dirt Team, bravo!!! I can’t wait to see more through your eyes, it inspires me to go on my own Dirt adventures, thank you for all the work to put this program together. Well done.
