Holy shit this place looks like heaven on Earth lol

I live just outside of Vancouver and your videos have made me wanna be a tourist in my own province again.

Not to be too dramatic, but I've been to 41 countries and I still think Tofino is one of my favourite places in the world. Something magical and peaceful there!

Tofino is such a magical place for me. It's the pristine, wild nature that surrounds the town that really does it. The first time I ever fished in the ocean, I caught a 70 lb halibut.

British wildlife photographer Bertie Gregory has said that his obsession with nature came from spending time on Vancouver Island. He has made documentaries for National Geographic and the BBC on the Sea Wolves and more, working from Tofino - some are on YouTube and u think Netflix. The "Hawaii" of the islands is somewhere quite different. There are places where tides recede a long way and beaches - especially sandy ones bake in the sun, when the tide comes back in the water absorbs the heat from the sand and provides some pretty big beaches with incredibly warm water for swimming in. Sand or pebbles has a lot to do with how the beaches face the prevailing currents, but a huge number of beaches on the islands have been adapted. It isn’t always easily spotted, but the 1st Nations here in coastal BC are masters of aquaculture and for thousands of years have very subtly altered the dynamics of many beaches to create the perfect conditions for oyster or clam beds. The scale of the work required is rarely visible, except sometimes from the air, but the level of aquaculture being practiced here for thousands of years is remarkable.

You guys got so incredibly lucky, the weather this spring is NOT normal, its been way above normal temperature and bone dry for so long. Usually at this time of year it would be like 10c and raining every day in Tofino. I've been there in August and had cold rain every day lol.

The Island is my playground. Surf, Snowboard, Mt. Biking, fishing, explore! I am so lucky to live here.

The proper way to eat a taco is to hold it straight, tilt your head, and eat from one side. You will always get tortilla chips at any Mexican spot and they are always expensive with guacamole. That is a very long wait, but they make it fresh to order and it is in a food truck (limited space). If you ever come to Toronto there is a plant based Mexican restaurant here that is supposed to be wonderful. There are a lot of plant based options here.

As someone that grew up on Vancouver Island went to Tofino lots and then in my teens I moved to Vancouver. I now live in the Kooteney’s I miss visiting a lot of the places that you guys are going to, Your guys videos are totally giving me shivers. Thanks for making these.

I think around one in forty Canadians have Ukrainian heritage and have been a part of shaping Canada, especially in the west. Perogies are pretty much a staple as well as a comfort food here. Every supermarket will carry frozen ones - Cheemo are the biggest and most popular brand and come in several varieties. It is rare to attend any sort of pot luck here where somebody does not bring some hand made ones. If you decide to buy a bag to cook, sour cream is the traditional accompaniment.

Aah Tofino. Haven't been there since the 90s but have often thought of going back. What a gorgeous place! Like someone else said, your videos of my back yard are making me want to be a tourist in my own province!
