I never understood why people follow made up rules for an aesthetic. You do you and love what you love, it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else. I don't even have a name for mine cause it crosses between five or six different boxes. For book recommendations I would like to put forward - Between two fires by Christopher Buehlman (5 stars for me) about a knight, a priest and a young girl during the black death set in France. Also The Red Winter by Cameron Sullivan. Not enough stars to give it. I devoured this book. One of my new favourite reads ❤ Also where did you get your frames? They are so cute, I'd like to get something similar

My orange Armand contacts arrived, they look great! I’ve been channeling my inner Gremlin. I have Lestat’s blue ones on their way. Less than a month to go till the premiere of The Vampire Lestat!! 5. Love your desk setup, it's very nice indeed 😊 Glad you had a great time at the Writer's Festival. I used to go to them here, but haven't since before 2020. My favourite one was where I heard Murakami talk (via a translator), which was really interesting and he's got a great sense of humour. I love Fantasy, but read mostly high Fantasy and the darkest and heaviest Fantasies I've read is Berserk, which is superb with incredible character friends but it does get very heavy at times so not sure if you'd want to check warnings or go that heavy (though has lots of sweet, funny moments too!) Also started Malazan, which is incredible and very dense so again not sure how 'thrown in the deep end' you want to go haha. Um you could try Joe Abercrombie, who is dark Fantasy, but much lighter and with fantastic and unforgettable characters.

Sometimes a decor refresh is just what is needed to get us out of a creative slump - your new desk setup looks great! So glad you enjoyed the Writers Festival session, it’s awesome to meet revered writers in person. Of course they won’t really know what their work meant to individual readers, but just that tiny snippet of contact and communication can give something back to a writer whose work has shaped us in some way 😊 My April highlights - a trip to Montsalvat in Eltham (if you’ve not been, I think you would love the gothic/mediaeval vibes of the place) - the Women Photographers exhibition at the NGV - matcha from Osoi in Brunswick

Love that Katabasis edition 😍 I read it last January for my book club and I like it! I definitely want to read more books by R.F. Kuang. The new decoration is really lovely love the concept 🤍🖤
