M. V. Malangi (Cruise boat) Built in NARAYANGANJ, DHAKA by Dockyard & Engineering works Ltd (DEW), Bangladesh Navy. Built in 2026 Launched on: March 2026 'M.V. Malangi" is the first ever cruise boat built in tourism sector in Bangladesh following a design, which been introduced in this subcontinent about 100 years back by the British. Later on, Myanmar, India and Cambodia following vibe. Preserving the cultural heritage of using wooden texture (mahogoni, shihu, imported pine, marine ply and packing ply) has been our main target for the interior (panelling & furniture) of MV Malangi. Considering the environmental issues various functional items from ship breaking industry at Chittagong have been installed. The vessel has been specially designed for cruises in the Sundarbans forest and other areas of Bangladesh as well as cross border destinations. M.V. Malangi is perfect for a group of upper-class guests (30-48 numbers) of expedition trips, professionals like photographers, researchers, TV teams and also for families who like to experience a unique time together amid a picturesque deltaic landscape in and around the mangrove forests. It can accommodate the guests in utter comfort. The expert guides, experienced captain and his crew are well trained to make every trip safe, enjoyable, memorable and relaxing for all guests. The cook and his assistant cater to the requirements of groups with great care and perfection. Besides outstanding traditional Bangladeshi food, they also cater to different needs, such as vegetarian dishes, less spicy dishes, and special children's menus. Besides regular trips to Sundarbans Forest MV Malangi is suitable for extended expedition cruises through the entire forest & even beyond. Boarding could be at Dhaka, Khulna or Mongla. Additional cruises can be offered as day cruises In and around Dhaka, weekended trips, (visiting floating market at Barisal and others). Our future plans to offer guests cross boarder cruises to India (Dhaka – Sundarbans – Kolkata and Khulna – Sundarbans – Assam) with MV Malangi. Speed: 25 km/h (in favour of the tide) Average Speed: 15 -20 km/h Power supply & Electricity: 3 Wichai marine generator supplying 40.00 KW, 75.00 KW and 120.00 KW electricity for running the boat and also general use. In addition, Malangi has solar panels, which can supply 13.50 KW of electricity, provide AC power (220 Volt) silently and environment friendly throughout day & night, providing guest with light, fan and recharge facilities on-board. Cabins: Altogether 48 guests fit into 15 cabins, each cabin fitted with air-conditions and comfortable double/single beds along with a bathroom having cold & hot water supply. Dinning: One large air-conditioned lounge on upper deck with facilities for 34 guests and another one located on main deck (front) comfortably sitting for 14 guests. Fresh water supply: 60,000 litters of fresh water are carried into 3 tanks, which are coated with food grad paints and 2.5 litters supply tank (food grad SS tank) use for wash room, basin, shower and galley. Storage of 600 litters drinking water into SS food grad tank for boat crew, also used for tea and coffee.
