This is the story of what happened after the parades ended. Because the 1980s Washington dynasty was not just built on championships. It was built on broken bodies, impossible second acts, quiet greatness, missed recognition, and men who had to figure out who they were once the game stopped calling. In this episode, we cover: • Joe Theismann and the injury that became NFL history • Doug Williams, Super Bowl XXII, and the quarter that changed everything • Darrell Green’s unreal longevity and life after football • Dexter Manley’s hidden illiteracy, addiction, and redemption • Art Monk, Russ Grimm, and the long wait for Hall of Fame respect • Joe Jacoby and one of the most painful Hall of Fame snubs in football • John Riggins, The Hogs, and the legends of Washington’s title years • Charles Mann, Gary Clark, Mark Murphy, Mark Moseley, Dave Butz, and more • The players who passed away, the ones still waiting, and the ones who found purpose after football • Why this dynasty deserves to be remembered far more than it is 💬 Comment below: Which story stayed with you most... Not mentioning the tight ends is crazy. Doc Walker, Don Warren, and Clint Didier were all instrumental parts of the offense. At least give a shout out to the group.
The Diesel's 4th and 1 for me.
The biggest tradejgy is Theismann isn't remembered for having 4k yard seasons for this team in the mid 80's, and Joe Jacoby isn't in the HOF.
My favorite Super Bowl win is the 42–10 masterpiece in Super Bowl XXII, where Washington turned a 10–0 deficit into a historic avalanche and Doug Williams authored one of the most electrifying, barrier‑breaking performances the sport has ever seen.
No talk of the legend Joe Gibbs. Only coach to win 3 SB’s with 3 different QB’s. He would always build a formidable team rather than a team around a formidable QB. He said the second most important player on a team is the backup QB.
Riggins 610 yards is still a postseason record and I don't think it will be broken. Teams don't run enough anymore so it may be a forever record.
Whats interesting is Gary Clark's stats are right there with Michael Irvin. And no Im not saying he is Irvin.
The Theismann injury and the Alex Smith injury both happened on November 18th which is also my birthday. I refuse to ever watch a game on my birthday anymore
Jacoby
Joe Jacoby for the HOF
Should be in! Nuff said!! Hogs, 4Ever!! Red-Niners Fan!!! Joe Jacoky
Riggins is one of the all time best redskins, and a character as well.
Loved Monk, and Green! I can name a linebacker,.. do you know?? 🤔

Dexter Manley was my best customer
There's a sports reporter I think his last name is King He hate the Redskins especially under Dan Snyder and he was the main reason art Monk and some of the other Redskins got delayed or not get into the HOF
What about Ricky Sanders dude? What was his story?
Mark Mosley only kicker to win the NFL MVP, and where is the love for Brian Mitchell, or Wilber Marshall.
Ricky Sanders, Gary Clark, and The Hogs don’t get talked about nearly as much as Doug Williams and Darrell Green because the spotlight tends to fall on quarterbacks and superstar defenders, leaving the equally essential receivers and linemen from Washington’s 1980s dynasty under‑recognized despite their enormous impact on the team’s success.
Todays commanders will never see a superbowl. 😂
