Holy shit I really did forget everything they taught me in school
To all of you people who are blessed enough to understand math, all of you should be happy.
I mean to do it in your head: 6 would be 10% 3 left over and 3 is 5% so 10+5 = 15
Just 9 multiply by 100 is 900 Then Divided by 60 . The answer is 15%
When you get 3/20 just multiply by 5 to get 15/100 answers 15 then. Whenever you get a denominator that is a multiple of 100 just multiply by whatever gets you to 100. Little trick
Did people not learn is/of? 9/60 = x/100. Multiply diagonally, then divide by the remaining number. Using that method you can figure out any percentage or missing number. Works if you needed to know what 15% of 60 was, or what 9 is 15% of.
In your head you can just do 9÷6= 1.5 and 1.5×10=15
Why make it so complicated? You know 6 is 10% of 60, so you know 9 is 1.5 x 6, so 15%
I always use proportions to solve these. 9/60 = x/100 and solve for x. Super quick and easy without needing long division
I rlly don’t understand why yall be rushing to get the answer if you’re tutoring. Slow it down a little. You’re not taking the test we are.
This is one of those things where the right way is the most confusing 9/60 = .15 which is 15% also 6 is 10% so 3 is 5% 6+3=9 and 10+5=15
All you needed to do was take nine and divided by 60 and multiply it by 100 and your answer will be 15 9 over 60 multiplied by 100 equals 15 percent. But it's a good way to do it either way or the other whenever you find a percent it's always 100% you're working with
so cumbersome explanation! 60 -> 100 9 -> X X= 9 * 100 / 60 = 90 / 6 = 15
Divide 9 by 6 then move the decimal. Next.
I just did: 6 is 10%, 3 is 5%, 6+3 =9, 10%+5%=15%
9/6 = 0.15 move two decimals to the right = 15.0 round to the nearest whole number = 15%
That's a whole lot of words to just take 9 / 60 on a calculator and move the decimal point over
Thx for sharing this, very helpful!
My brain simply breaks all % down into 10% 5% 2.5%, and then I had the numbers together till I get to the number I need. So 10% would be 6, 5% would be 3. 6+3 = 9, so 10% + 5% = 15%. My head can do this faster than most people can read the question.
I just looked at the answers and started at 15 because it seemed closest and Thought ok 9 goes into 60 at least 6 times so 2x 15 is 30 so 4x is 60 and 6x is 90 and I had a little room to spare. Close enough picked 15% and moved on. Being fast and efficient matters a lot in timed tests and I got my answer in 11 seconds. Sure sometimes I'm wrong because I'm not taking the time to be precise but I'm right fast enough that I don't ever have to leave the last 20 blank or guess at random because I don't have enough time. I'd rather be right 90% of the time on partial solving than miss 20% of the questions because I didn't have time to read them.
