This is not how it normally works this is just a coincidence the actual method that gives you the most marks is finding the interior angle which is 115 because 180-65= 115 and now you need to find the value of x you do this by taking away 115 from 180 because x is onna straight line with the other degree and straight lines are 180 degrees hope that helped

65° should be subtracted from angle of a triangle which 180° - 65° = 115°. Then 115° should be subtracted from angle on a straight line to solve for x. Angle on a straight line = 180° 180° - 115° = 65°. x = 65°.

You did it wrong, this is just a coincidence, what you should do is a+b=65, 180(area of triangle)-(a+b)=115 so now we know c=115, ac=180(straight angle) x+115+180=360, x+295=360, we can remove 295 from both sides, x+(295-295)=(360-295) which x+0=65 or x=65

Further explanation (correct me if I’m wrong pls): a sum of a triangle is equal to 180 degrees the other 2 interior angles are 40 and 25. You would add up the 40 and 25 to get 65. Because we know the sum of a triangle is 180 degrees, we can subtract the 65 from 180 to get 115. This solves for the missing interior angle. This isn’t our answer however, because we are trying to find the x or the exterior angle. We know a straight line is 180 so we can subtract 115 from 180 to get x=65. 😊 I may have done something wrong pls let me know…

The exterior angle theorem states that the measure of an exterior angle is equal to the sum of the measures of the two remote interior angles of the triangle. The remote interior angles are also called opposite interior angles.

The drawing is not to scale. You should have indicated that when you had the 40 and 25 in that triangle. There is no question that 40+25 is 65. A triangle has 180° in total. So, 180-65=115. Now that we found the missing angle in that triangle, we can find x. Note that the 115 and the x angle are supplementary angles. That means they total 180°. That is why x=65°.

For those who dont understand first we apply interior angle prop of triangle in which all int ang add to 180⁰. The ans is 115⁰ then we do 180⁰-115⁰ because angles on a straight line are supplementary in this case it is angle x and angle c both are supplementary their sum is 180⁰ we know angle c value which is 115 so we know that 115⁰ plus x is 180⁰ we do transposing and Ans is 65⁰.
