Psychology of Trump Supporters | Understanding Belief, Identity, and Loyalty Sources & Reference: https://canva.link/2mkwl09mrz9aox8 This video explores the psychological mechanisms that shape unwavering political loyalty, with a focus on the mindset of Trump supporters. Drawing from peer-reviewed research in behavioral science, it examines why individuals may resist contradictory evidence and maintain strong beliefs even under scrutiny. Key concepts discussed include cognitive dissonance, social dominance orientation, and identity-protective cognition—all of which play a critical role in how people interpret information and defend their worldview. Rather than a political argument, this is an analysis of human behavior—how identity, emotion, and perception influence decision-making in modern society. If you're interested in understanding why facts alone often fail to change minds, this video offers a clear, research-based perspective. He’s been so insanely good at completely capturing the minds of his supporters.
The fact that this just describes my dad exactly is terrifying
Love it. Explains a lot, if not everything, not the least of which is the abandonment of one's moral sensibility on a collective scale.
This is the best explanation I’ve seen in years of reading and watching.
I Love Psychology. Psychology and politics combined is fun ☺️. Love this Video 😊.
Education has a lot to do with it. Most people don’t even know their rights or laws that exist in the very country they live in. Back then peer reviewed journal articles and researchers use to provide us with the facts now people can’t even learn to read those anymore. Social media and people who have no educational background on any subject have made it easy and have now taken the place of research and journals to now control the masses and tell them how to feel vs someone actually using their rational reasoning. Everything is being politicized including education, so it’s no wonder why other countries that we look down upon are doing circles around us with knowledge, technology, and innovation.
That was very revealing. I have people in my family who are not racist or stupid. Conversely, they are extremely kind and intelligent people. This 5 minute commentary helps me understand their unwavering loyalty to a disgusting criminal. Wild stuff!
The mental gymnastics that they go through to justify their mistakes is why they are so tired and that makes them angry.
You cannot reason someone out of a position that they did not reason themselves into in the first place (and yet I try...🤯 🙄)
Great video! - mentions the amygdala "fear center" being over activated in culties. Studies show an overactivated amygdala is also highly correlated w/ development of dementia, especially Alzheimers.
So well said. Thank you for putting this all into words.
In High School I was told, "Don't believe everything you see on TV." and I remember thinking, "who does that anyways?" Now I know the answer.
Not wasting my energy or time. I got to have my Peace!!
This is great to help explain. It gets more complicated when it's realized that the historic culture of the U.S.A. is actually rapidly changing. It's not just a feeling. That said, the video is generally valid. Specific examples to back up each point would've really helped.
Politics has become like when people argue over their favorite sports teams.
The logic of a Trump supporter: He didn't say that. And if he did, he didn't mean that. And if he did, you didn't understand it. And if you did, it's not a big deal. And if it is, others have said worse.
Their egos won't allow them to admit they were fooled.
This aligns with what I have believed for a while now.
it's simple - they're more invested in being right than the truth.
It's really tempting to share this video in the group text with my service manager and co workers. Im pretty sure I'd be on the shit list.😅
