Exploring Amsterdam’s yarn shops as I continue my Knitting Through Europe journey. In this travel knitting vlog, I take you through the city’s creative corners, share what’s on my needles, and soak in the inspiration of yarn, culture, and slow travel. In Part 2 of this knitting travel series, I take you with me through the beautiful streets of Amsterdam — discovering inspiring yarn shops, soaking up the creative atmosphere, and sharing what I’m working on along the way. From the colour and texture of hand-dyed yarns, this episode blends travel, knitting, and creativity in a way that feels slow, intentional, and full of inspiration. 🧶 Featured in this episode: – Yarn shop visits in Amsterdam – Knitting on the go – Travel moments and reflections Whether you’re here for the yarn, the travel, or a bit of both, I hope this episode gives you a sense of calm, creativity, and connection. 💬 Let me know in the comments: Have you visited any yarn shops in Amsterdam — or where should I go next? 🤍 If you enjoy knitting podcasts, yarn shop tours, and creative travel, I’d love you to subscribe and join the Calon Yarns community. #KnittingPodcast #Amsterdam #YarnShops #KnittingVlog #TravelKnitting #CalonYarns EVENTS: Saturday 2nd May will be the next 'Online Knit Club' 5:00pm Uk time. Lovely vlog, thank you. I'm a bit surprised that you didn't visit Stephen & Penelope. It's a really famous shop, because of Stephen West and his beautiful knitted shawls.
I’ve just found your channel, what is the green vest/slipover you are wearing pls.
Brilliant! Thank you!
Hi Lynne: I was really chuckling at your proposal for daytime use of those ornate and red upholstered chairs in Amsterdam windows! Yes, underused real estate. Your road trip looks wonderful.
Great vlog as always Lynne. Amsterdam is on my list of places to visit. very much looking forward to the May festivities!!
Lovely to see and hear about your trip to Amsterdam - one of my favourite cities, have visited this beautiful city 3 times, no mean feat as I live in Sydney Australia. I chuckled to myself when you mentioned the red light district and the beautiful light for knitting in the windows. On one of our visits we stayed in an Airbnb right on a canal a few streets away from the red light district. It had a gorgeous upholstered chair set in a big bay window facing the street ( I think tongue in cheek), which I was immediately tempted to sit in and knit in the sunshine - until my husband pointed out what it would look very much like! By the way, I took up your recommendation to watch the Mindful Narrowboat podcast - OMG I too now want to live on a narrowboat! Hardly likely when there is not a canal network or narrowboat in sight in my part of the world - but I can dream …. However, after watching your adventures, I think I could happily settle for a camper van.
Loved your trip to Amsterdam, my son moved to netherlands few months ago , not too far away from Amsterdam. I will be visiting one day so lookign forward to that .
Thanks for taking us along on your Easter break. It looked so relaxing 😎 Dad you share the driving?
Hello Lynne I have just subscribed to your channel. I will look forward watching your video Love Joan from Nottingham xx ❤
The park and ride is such a great idea for campers! I have not seen that at any RV park here in North America. Thank you for sharing your adventures 🥰. I think your idea of knitting in the windows is a fabulous idea! Depending on how one dresses, knitting might become more popular, I can see it now, “The Knaughty Knitters”😂
Someone recommended putting the balls of wool in separate plastic zip bags to keep them from getting ravelled up.
Nice vlog and impression of Amsterdam, I am wondering if you are only driving? challanging on the other side of the road? I just can't drive on the other side I find it so confusing 😇
Amsterdam is the place for tourist. I don't like it, much to busy. I like the other parts of our country much nicer, such as the provice Drenthe. The landscape there is so beautiful. Good idea, when you finish one sleeve, you can start a new project.
Noticed your Pelica on the thumbnail, so had to watch. It is my most used knit from this winter
Lovely podcast Lynne. I would love to visit Amsterdam one day it looks beautiful ❤
I think you have something there with the red light district during the day 😂. Thank you for sharing. I have the pattern for the Jilly Jam as well, but haven’t started it yet. I like the colours you put together.
Haha lovey idea love Amsterdam such a beautiful city. Are such family places, we lived in Antwerp for a short time, so lovey to see some places that we would visit.
😂😂😂😂 John Arbon, law of 1822. You had me in stitches. Sleeve. Do you knit one row with alternate color or just cast off?
