in the uk whe have the more expensive fuel the reason is because somecars such as a v12 or a austin 10 they are more delicate than most engines so we use better fuel for better quality

Premium is cleaner a regular ethanol. Gas is not very good for the car but if you get premium non-ethanol it’s really good.
For some reason regular diesel burns more than premium diesel in my mum's car

It’s mostly for vehicles with higher compression or it’s just cleaner for four stroke four wheelers ,dirt bikes and normal lawnmowers

My 1974 ford truck uses a 450 pushing 500 hp and my dad's 1970 camaro also takes it cause it has a drag built engine
Some cars are more needy read the manual but there a difference between recommend and required recommend plus and put standard can course minor to mild damage in the cars life time but required plus and put standard can cause a hole engine replacement but required premium and you put standard will become a major ploblem way faster read the manual and talk to a mechanic
