F1 recent V10’s and V8’s used a step in diameter before the collector. In a change of diameter, the pulse will reflect back, increasing the pitch. Of course F1 had the money in those years to perfect the location and diameters for their prefered powerband. I have a 2005 F1 V10 exhaust on display, absolute beauty!!

Invite the Maestro for a collab. He's an exhaust nutcase. Made a video trying all cominations of headers and even a few wildcard mufflers/tip shapes on a stand mounted 600 streetbike engine.
