People complain about missing VVA without understanding why it exists. On the R15, VVA was Yamaha's trick to give a small SOHC engine top-end DOHC performance without adding engine bulk. R2 already has DOHC. Larger DOHC engines already breathe efficiently across the powerband, so adding VVA hardware would just mean unnecessary cost, weight, and complexity.
Instead of R3, we get this 😵💫
No VVA and a diamond frame instead of the deltabox perimeter frame. The only real upgrade here is adjustable suspension.
They are still with the old mindset. Nothing changed a bit. Same old leftovers to reduce costs.
R15 v4 for is still the best for me... Nothing beats it for me,,, Nothing,,, even yamaha cannot bring a bike like the R15 v4 anymore...😂💙💙💙...the love is real,,,
So they gave us Steel Tube Diamond for R2 instead of Deltabox frame in R15. 🤔Yamaha naming conventions are complicated now.
a lil disappointing that its not a twin. this will just cannibalise r15m sales. India is lowk ready for a domestic small twin from a japanese manufacturer but i guess if yamaha wont take the risk, no one will. that 321cc engine was so ready cus of the tax break.
To the kids crying over no VVA on this needs to understand VVA was given to R15 purposefully just to compete with 200cc bikes despite being 155cc , but this new 204cc engine doesn’t need that coz it has decent power figures !
They could have launched it something similar to cbr or gixxer 250 that could have made this bike more comfortable to travel

Imo only vva made r15 what it is. Otherwise it's just a pretty bike. Not having it here and inflating the price so much doesn't make too much sense.
Fairing is not good ... No VVA.... No deltabox... And pricing is too high. Let's see performance in upcoming days

tbh design looks so pretty and beefy than r15v4 on camera its already giving big bike look now in person it may look more muscular like r3 , power figure specs is similar to rs200 buts its yamaha so we can expect more from it if r3 mileage is 35 and top speed 180 r2 might give 38-40 kmpl and top speed of 160+. And the build quality also looks more premium than r15v4 , delta box is not really an issue unless we use it on track or lean on curve like rossy or Marq.
Atleast they could.have given steel braided lines
