While I do understand the “keep it original” argument that is only justified if it’s totally original in the first place. How many tanks and other armoured vehicles out there are exactly as they left the factory? It’s like Theseus’ tanks, very few will have all original parts in them. I took my family to Market Harborough and my boy loved seeing the tanks driving round, especially the CET’s doing their thing. He didn’t care that they may have parts swapped out, he just loved seeing them digging holes in the ground! I fully approve of the work you do keeping these machines running and actually using them and showing them off.
I think efi on these old engines is one of the most interesting things ive come across in the hobby, done tastefully and easily put back to stock if you should so desire. Would love to see more

I think the time has now come for Mr Hewes to publish his suit size so viewers can send in the most inappropriate clothes for him to undertake tank maintenance in....😅 ( as soon as I know I will be looking for a pair of plaid plus fours and a knitted tank top....

Some tank restorers (The Australian Amor and Artillery Museum) have had to install late model engines just keep their tanks mobile. It's not a bad solution. Having a method to make the engine to be more reliable for a museum piece is better than risking losing the entire engine. It's a good solution Mr. Hewes.
It is less about power and speed than about reliability and efficiency. I think you guys have done a great job! Thanks for the video!

It seems completely reasonable to modernise your tanks the way you have. To update them to keep them usable. more cost effective, more efficient and more sustainable makes sense. They're not reference (museum) pieces and doing this frees up whatever genuine parts there are left for those vehicles. I think EFI is the only way to make a turbocharged meteor engine safe and practical, so I'm looking forward to seeing how that works.
