I think I would have returned the baby to the side of the road the mother ran to after being startled by passing vehicles and waited. Placed it there, somewhere safe, and watched to see if the mother came back. The mother would have likely returned for her baby. All I can think of is the weasel mama, watching her baby be abducted by a giant. I mean, think if your child somehow wiggled out of your arms or carrier and feĺl to the ground and before you could grab your baby, some huge creature picked it up and ran off with it. It's heartbreaking.

that isn't a "bug" it is a tick. It wasn't "bitten" it was latched on and feeding. It was nearly done as fat and thick with blood as it seems to be.
