Is NVIDIA really unstoppable or could it be a dead man walking? In this vlog, I take a contrarian look at NVIDIA’s dominance of the AI chip market and whether its massive valuation is justified. NVIDIA currently powers much of the world’s AI training and inference through its data center GPUs. But that dominance depends on one critical assumption: that AI will continue running primarily on expensive NVIDIA hardware inside massive centralized data centers. I argue that assumption could be challenged by open-weight AI models, cheaper inference, and the rise of local AI. As models become more efficient, AI inference could increasingly move to desktops, laptops, and edge devices. Consumer hardware like the Mac Studio, with its unified memory architecture, could offer significant cost and power advantages compared with NVIDIA’s expensive data center GPUs. I also examine NVIDIA’s competition with Apple, AMD, and Huawei, and why NVIDIA’s AI moat may not be as durable as investors think. Good stuff! Amazing how quickly you reached 100k subscribers; congratulations! Have you received Youtube's Silver Creator Award? You need to flex it in your future videos.
Asian Dad Energy is short NVDA
I'm already running DeepSeek v4 Flash on a 128 gb strix halo (AMD). Not the fastest but 100% local.
Spot on analysis. The biggest enemy most retail investors face isn't the market itself, but their own emotions. Buying the hype at the top and panic selling during a healthy correction is how most people lose their shirts. The real secret is staying calm, ignoring speculative price targets, and utilizing structured day trading strategies to extract profits regardless of whether the market goes up or down. I shifted my mindset recently and the results speak for themselves. I managed to scale a $110k nest egg up to a solid $955k in just a matter of months. Thanks again, Ken Halper, for the continuous support and sharp market updates!
Nvidia is selling shovels, but Nvidia is vendor financing those shovels to unprofitable prospectors
I think you only mentioned CUDA once. And I’m not sure you realize how important CUDA is. CUDA software is on top of the Nvidia hardware. It’s that combination that gives Nvidia a special MOAT.
Great video. I've been enjoying your content since you published your first video.
Let me know how your shorts on NVDA go.
One of the best and most honest analysis...So true...
I was impressed at well my little $600 32G RAM desktop could run a 24G model, and how well it performed.
Thank you, lynn! I started investment with US$3,360. and since following lynn for two weeks now and I've gotten US$16,539. It honestly surprises me Thank you both for the information. Peace Power and love............
Good POV, but I think you're looking at inference mostly through the lens of LLMs. Bring diffusuin (image and video) into the equation and the hardware requirements change. Especially video generation is extremely compute and memory intense. I think the long term inference market for generative media will be gigantic, and Nvidia is very well positioned for it.
Not to mention apple is planning to launch 700gb+ mac studios this year and 1.5tb later on at a fraction of the current equivalent NVIDIA gpu prices.
I'm not huge on Nvidia either, but they aren't just a hardware company. They are also a software / solutions company at the same time. They had a moat even before AI when AMD GPUs were always less expensive for the processing power. They had tensorcores, etc. Eventually there will be a model good enough for most use-cases and then the focus will shift from improving performance of the model to lowering the processing demand of that model. Eventually we'll have ChatGPT 5.0+ / Fable equivalent level models that can run on smart phone devices. The goal is to first develop the smartest technology, then that smartest technology can enter a feedback loop to exponentially improve itself, then for modest use-cases we'll have hyper efficient small models that can run on tiny APUs. There will always be demand for high performance processing though likely indefinitely until we actually develop a replacement to the electrical transistor that is significantly better for all our use-cases. Not to mention, Nvidia is at the frontier of AI.. More than likely they'll identify how the market is shifting and then if they need to move into a new technology for processing I believe they likely will, or even completely change their business model.
You're not correct about China not having access to Nvidia GPUs, there's a known smuggling operation getting them there.
8.11.26 ... I understand that KimiK3 was asked "Who are you?" The answer that came back was "I'm Claude, from Anthropic."
Love your energy. Gives us hope. We all should stick together in these dark times.
LOUDER PLEASE❣️ The people in the back need to hear it. HYPED❗ Pensions, Insurance and 401Ks are being loaded with these speculative stocks and funds. There will be pain and loss of income when it all settles out.
Like nvidia has never produced consumer GPUs. Spoiler – I have one in my PC. Also their moat is CUDA. You mentioned AMD, why not mention them as competitors for training? And probably most Chinese models were still trained on nvidia hardware anyway.
You're one of the best channels on YouTube, Asian Dad Energy!
