Good information
Now they are eliminating the rotation clutching. Small 3 phase AC variable speed motors turn the swash plate. Considerably more reliable mechanically and efficient.
First published by Agostino Ramelli in 1588. Pretty crazy.
Useful information, never knew before
some pressure washers use this mechanism as well
Amazing engineering!
It's called a "Variable Pitch Axial Piston Pump".
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds.
Same as the Hi Speed hydraulic pumps on Skid Loaders!
Awesome!
Also used in pressure washer intead pins of pistons
How are these pistons lubricated?ofcourse there is no firing inside them but still reciprocative motion to be lubricated
It's intentionally built to break down they never heard of a screw compressor
Excellent visual example. One of many designs for ac systems
Dont know what kind of compressor my 58 cadillac uses, parent bought it new. I do remember it put out very cold air. It didn't fail till 1968. Big okd thing, still in place under the hood. It got used about 5 to 6 months every year. Palm springs California car. Very hot long summers, 115 to 120 degrees.
Originally made as a car motor but the factories were already tooled for the engine blocks we know
Sometimes called a "wobble plate".
Same idea in Garden Tractor Transaxles.
There is also little or no pulsation on the system.
