The Cape Verde goal rightly got plaudits, however without wanting to take any credit away from that goal, I think most professional footballers have a goal like that in their locker. However, barely any footballers in the world have the capacity control the ball the way Messi did here. Pure genius

This is the best example of the highest standard of football. No fancy stuff just basics all the way. Making something difficult look easy. The only reason why Messi had time to check the keeper was because of the insane trapping. That's why the best players always seem to have time on the ball and untouchable by defenders.
