This is a comment i have posted before, but i think it explains how Haaland in underrated: Haaland Haaland is so much better than this. He is always just called a "poacher" and such. But he was insane against Iraq. The guy carried Norway in the first half and was instrumental in literally all their goals. He is a great aerial defender and he he runs back to get the ball all the time. Also why does only one playstyle get love in football? Haaland mostly uses his physicality to get past defenders, but for some readon that is as good as dribbling, why? It achieves the exact same result, but it is not respected. And he is always said to be one dimensional because he does not carry the ball. But football is a team game. Haaland creates so much space when he runs in to the box, and this makes the all round team better. I would actually go as far as too say that Haaland is way better than his stats. A lot of people think its the opposite, but its not and i will explain. Take Kane for example, he is a great player, but very different from Haaland. He is way more of a playmaker and he carries the ball more. This means he is gonna be way more DIRECTLY responsible for goals and assists. As he will have way more touches and passes in the opposite half. A lot of people think that means he is way better for a team that Haaland is, but he is not. Just look at a lot of city’s and Norway’s games. While Haaland is not DIRECTLY touching the ball he causes so many goals. He is a master at pulling away defenders which has helped players like Nusa tremendously, but he is not DIRECTLY involved therfore he gets no credit. Multiple times Haaland also causes own goals. He did it against Iraq and he also did it against Israel. But again he does not get any credit, even though he caused or massively influnced the goal. In this way Kane will have way more direct involvement in a game over Haaland. So again i believe Haaland is the opposite of what people say of him. He is not a statpadder, he actually causes tons of goals indirectly and is therefore way better than his stats suggest (Also i love Kane and he is a great player so no diss to him) A lot of people also never think about what makes someone REALLY a good football player. You can have good stats on paper, but what do you win? If you win nothing or your team does not get better when you arrive or worse when you leave (minus maybe a bit of time for restructuring) then you are worse then your stats. For example Haaland has carried Norway a lot (they are not bad, but again Haaland is almost always indirectly involved with all their goals) and gotten them to the WC, which they haven’t been to since 1998. He also helped Man City win a treble which is so much more impressive then people give it credit for. The reason why a treble is insane is you could technically win it every year, but it is never guaranteed. Vs like the world cup where you need luck (being born the right place) and somebody is always gonna win it every 4 years
