I used to work in a glass factory, Laminated glass makes it so the shards stay together on impact so you don't get cut by the shards or have to deal with glass dust, it will still break pretty easil, if you cant break laminated glass with a tool you shouldn't be in a car it's still extremely easy to shatter. Break and push that simple.

Ironic that cabin noise is a factor, especially considering that when the cabins get too quiet, high end manufacturers pump in artificial engine noise to compensate. So essentially they welded shut the escape hatches to solve an issue that they then digitally recreate.

Expensive cars don’t use laminated to reduce cabin noise, it doesn’t do anything for that since it’s just as smooth. Normally, laminated glass is used on the front windshield, so that if it shatters, the thousands of glass shards don’t rain down on you, but instead stick to the glue, it helps prevent injury from flying glass. Meanwhile the window panes are normally tempered which unlike regular glass is super impact resistant, until a small fracture appears, then it shatters into thousands of pieces because if internal stresses being released. This then provides a passage out. Don’t quote me on this but I don’t even think it’s legal in most countries to use laminated in the doors, or tempered in the front windshield

That type of glass only belongs in the front. The sides should always be breakable.
