I've been a mechanic my whole life, and I can't believe I've never thought of this.

When he stuck that wrench down that socket I was like "Yeah, thats not gonna work, loosening up a bolt like that." untill he stuck it between the cv axle and the transmission case. I got quiet real fast.

From what I've seen mechanics are usually very reasonably pissed off but sometimes very happy

That works until its stuck in there and the wrench goes thru the transmission

Literally my project this weekend, couldnt have come at a better time!!! Edit: I didnt end up using the wrench, just used a crow bar pushing against the frame repeatedly, worked like a charm! No need to risk cracking the casing

It’s all giggles until an aluminum transmission case cracks. (Luckily in this case the steel ring protects the casing).
