Are you sure the failure in Mullet wasn't from what Steve Morris talked about a while back? He highly recommends untorqueing the rods and mains between races, then re-torqueing them before the next event. A couple of videos back, he had an engine just sitting on the shop floor and the tip of a rod bolt literally shot off onto the ground. It’s a real possibility one of the rod bolts fractured during its downtime. Then, when they got it back up and running, it gave up the ghost and took the rest of the engine with it.
