My daughter‘s boyfriend recently asked her dad for her hand in marriage. What a sweet gesture! My ex-husband immediately took the Facebook and posted this interaction on Facebook. Mind you, the ring is not bought, and the proposal has not been made yet. I began getting messages from friends, congratulating me on my daughter‘s engagement. My daughter reached out to me and expressed her frustration with her dad stealing their thunder. Her boyfriend reached out to her dad and politely asked him to remove the Facebook post, to allow them to announce their engagement when it happened. My ex blasted him, told him he had no right to tell him how to act or what to do, and hung up on him. This is a narcissist.

We all need to pause n be present to the emotions of others. Everyone needs practice. I’m raised by covert NPD married an Overt NPD/sociopath, married again a covert NPD. Watch all the videos cuz they come in a few flavors. Apparently I must practice empathy… cuz it’s never been modeled.
