Known as the 'Milwaukee Cannibal,' Dahmer was responsible for the murders of 17 young men between 1978 and 1991. His disturbing actions included not only the killings but also sexual assault, dismemberment, and even cannibalism. Despite the horror of his deeds, he presented himself in a surprisingly calm and articulate manner during interviews. Using his expertise in clinical and forensic psychology, Dr. G dissects Dahmer's behavior and body language to uncover the unsettling nuances that lurk beneath the surface. This analysis goes beyond the sensational headlines to provide a thoughtful examination of what makes a person capable of such shocking actions. Whether you're a true crime aficionado or a psychology enthusiast, this eye-opening analysis will leave you questioning the depths of the human mind. The reason it was so difficult for him to talk about his altar vision is that it represented his ultimate source of control. Sharing it meant surrendering part of that control by revealing a deeply guarded secret. By opening up about it, he is genuinely trying to change, yet at the same time, he is struggling to let it go.
I’m always amazed when listening to him talk, the level of self awareness and almost disgust at his urges. Yet at the same time he has gotten enjoyment
The most disturbing and terrifying feature of violence is the one that has no reason or cause for carrying it out. Meaning the body is disconnected from the action.
The face he makes at the end when he's asked if he'd still be doing it if he hadn't gotten caught. BOOM! Eyebrows up, eyes much more open, face more open. He doesn't feel remorse or guilt if he would keep doing it. He still wants to do it.
11:11 first time a serial killer actually regrets something
I am just going to point out the fact that typically people look left when telling the truth and look left up when recounting memories but look right when lying and write up when actively coming up with a lie.
Dude is an entirely different kind of killer, it's unusual to see someone who's very grounded and honest about what they did.
We search horror in movies.... and then reality is far worse 😶
16:32 Cognitive empathy isn't the same as emotional empathy...
13:30 the intense eye contact is also to scan her, read her, have a feeback. He's not here to manipulate her but it's part of the dark triad manipulative technique to constantly monitor the other person and feed into what they give them. Remember he's about control and dominance. So I would argue here that it's just baseline behavior for him
This video always shows up around this time of year
If I had to do an interview while in prison serving time, I would keep my head down the whole time, cause I'm hella introverted. And I would demand a pack of cigs as my payment 😅
What's scary is, if he had stable income and an independent home rather than an apartment, it would have been very difficult to trace him and he would probably be alive today
He sounds like it's the first time in his life he's ever been able to vent. Such sick, twisted actions, yet here he seems genuinely timid.
:30 I think the analysis is dead on and I would also say his gaze as he is answering her question is very obvious. When she asks - "If you were out on the street now, would you still be committing the crimes?" When he responds with "probably" and the gaze in his eyes. You can almost see the images of what he has done and would do again if he was on the streets, the eyes say it all. It's like a flash back almost for him I think. Or even a continued fantasy for him, very weird and chilling honestly. Very cool Dr. G points that out and honestly even spotted that!
He feels different than other notable psychopathic serial killers. Bundy and Gacy were so evasive and avoided responsibility. Dahmer comes off as very frank and honest in his interviews. Chilling and fascinating.
It's almost like the information that he is sharing about his rituals with his victims and the souvenirs of his crime, it's so sacred to him. He just wants to keep it guarded, protected.
Plot twist: he actually watched Dr G videos and is manipulating us.
15:10 seeems like he heard bundy interview and its saying “bundy stfu blame only urself”
This is why I got into psychology in the first place. I mean, who wouldn't find this absolutely fascinating!! The brain is such an amazing thing.
