Celebrating one year since leaving the UK is a massive milestone, but I wanted to make a video that steps away from the usual glossy, romanticized travel vlogs. Today marks my 365th day living abroad, and while there is so much I genuinely appreciate and find wonderful about life in Asia, the reality of adapting to completely different cultures is incredibly challenging. From the constant, overwhelming sensory and noise pollution to the daily navigation of a completely foreign environment, the truth is that it has often felt less like a luxury expat lifestyle and much more like a test of pure survival. In this video, I’m opening up about the real reasons I left my homeland. Due to a broken political system and the harsh realities of immigration issues back home, I don’t truly feel like an "expat"—I feel more like a refugee who was forced to seek a life elsewhere. This past year hasn't been about a carefree holiday; it’s been a tough, gritty journey of finding my footing and surviving in a world miles away from everything I knew. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey, and I hope this honest look at the highs and lows of life abroad resonates with anyone else navigating a difficult transition. RIP Henry Nowak
Left the UK two years ago for the mountains of northern Italy, off grid in the middle of the forest, best move I've made.uk is done
Can’t believe it’s been a year, it’s certainly been entertaining for us Tom, kept us giggling through dark times 😂❤❤
The UK is turning into a hell hole. I don't even watch the news because it's all predictive programming. You are better off over there Tom. We didn't take the juice mate. But I think it's in general anesthetics now. A small procedure or dental work and they get the juice in us
Your right, Paris is burning right now . The migrants just ripped the city to shreds using a football game as excuse. Edit you mention Paris at end part of video ❤
Back to Sheffield lad
I have two kids and a partner and need to get out ASAP, one flight already cancelled. I f÷=kin hope we can get out.
they came into our house and put their shoes up on our dinner table while we were eating. and when you call them out on it, they look at you like you're crazy
I started watching as you left this shithole ion the plane , that was funny has it been 1 year already wow
People just don't do their research or choose to ignore their research. It's like it's all over the internet it's loud. People still fly in get apartments then complain "why is it so loud?".
Great vid , u would suit nomad van life in Scotland tho, all the peace and tranquility you'll ever need we have slightly different laws and by laws up here , loads of free, beautiful and cheap park ups ,the best thing is u don't have to put up with no cant 👍
Tom, there's basically two types of ppl in the world. Those who took the poke and those that didn't. If you didn't then you're a critical thinker, and if you did...well, words fkn fail me. It was all so bloody obvious it was laughable. Great Vid again Tommy. Been with you since Sheffield mate and love all your travels, thoughts, opinions and the odd bit of Victor Meldrew thrown in. Happy anniversary mate and long may your travels continue 😁
it's getting worse. i think you made the right choice
Double Monday premiere from Tom. We are truly blessed
currently living in the UK visited mexico a year ago and i loved it i wanna come back and I totally agree with you uk is cooked
Another couple of countries to look into moving too are Uruguay and Kazakhstan as well as the Baltic states as they are largely unenriched for now
The good thing about Georgia is that you get a year's visa on arrival, then you spend an afternoon in Armenia, then you re-enter Georgia, and get t'other year's visa.
I think this video was more suited to the broken mirror or now called Tom G. Not really your refugee channel Tom Anyone agree ?
What about a monastery in Tibet? Become a monk? That would be peaceful, probably.
Nothing’s coming Tom ……we are not all going to die in England 🏴 How long are you going to give it till you realise you’re wrong? Next year great 2027 See you next year I like you ……your just way to deep in the rabbit hole Try and stay cool 😎
