Welcome back to rural Thailand! 🇹🇭 In this video, I share the reality of family life in a Thai village as we navigate the ups and downs of raising our Aussie-Thai twin daughters. From dealing with challenges at school and sibling conflicts to spending quality time together as a family, this is an honest look at everyday life in rural Isaan. We also take my mum, who is visiting from Australia, out to experience authentic village life and show her around the family farm. Along the way, we enjoy a family dinner at a local restaurant, spend time with relatives, and continue building our life here in the Thai countryside. Living as an expat family in Thailand has been one of the biggest decisions of my life. Raising children in a Thai village offers a completely different experience from what many people imagine. Our daughters grow up surrounded by family, nature, Thai culture, and a strong sense of community. While there are challenges along the way, the slower pace of life and close family connections make rural Thailand a special place to call home. If you’re new here, I’m Ricky from Ricky in Isaan. I’m an Australian expat living in rural Thailand, sharing the reality of life in Isaan with my Aussie-Thai family. On this channel you’ll find family life, village living, local culture, food, travel, property projects, and honest insights into what it’s really like living in Thailand full-time. Your wife and your mom are on Thai time when shopping. 😅😅😅
❤❤❤
Beautiful place ❤❤❤❤
I don’t know if it’s the same here, but the white Monsters ore low calorie. The darker colors have sugar and a lot of calories. I haven’t tried to translate the labels here.
Those announcements would get annoying.
Lovely family dinner and vlog. Good ending for your mother.
The girls being multi lingual is so amazing. Best upbringing Ricky.
Mike… I don’t agree with your only live once saying.. you live every day.. you only die once!
These farms, is it purely for your own produce or do you sell some of it too?
Every video I watch of yours mate, I think a little harder about selling up here in Australia lol.
If you have time take your mum out to the restaurant I told you about with the giant prawns. It is laid out almost exactly like the one you went to so may be part of a group.
The ladies speech has come leaps and bounds, so cute hearing them converse 😊 Cracked me up that they’re fighting at pre-school 😂 That restaurant is gorgeous, what a spot ❤ Imagine if you could swim while people are eating 😂😂😂 Lovely family evening and specially for your mum. ❤
Hey Ricky Great vlog a bit of everything. Definitely take my Thai family to that restaurant, looks great.🇦🇺🇦🇺👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Ricky. Keep up with that line on bananas along the fence. They will fill in and make some lush privacy foliage along with the bananas. I speak from experience. Just make sure to keep them from spreading too close to the fence.
Great day out looking at rice fields again
It's easy to get up early in Thailand, and now with schoolgirls Lily & Daisy it's even better! 👍😉💞 So nice that your mom is with you, Ricky. I wish you all a happy time together, fond regards 🙏
Aaahhh...I see you drinking chocolate milk, I freaking love chocolate milk. So, when I'm in Thailand, I try to drink milk all the time but, it just doesn't compare to milk in the U.S., it's richer and creamier here. Is it the same thing in Australia where the milk tastes different than in Thailand? Take it easy, man✌️
Another great video Ricky. Girls loving school by the looks. Twin will always have each other's back i know because I'm one. Restaurant looks incredible. Hope you mum ok look a bit down in this video.
No check points= less tea money 😊
Your kids speak more thai than English because they're surrounded by thai speakers. And their mom is thai that makes it 90% thai and 10% english by you. When I was a kid, I speak at lease 5 languages and I learned by hanging out with other kids my age. I didn't go to school to learn anything. That was in thailand waiting to move to America. Now, I can speak only 3. English is my strongest. Other 2 I can't read or write. That's life... in my past life I used to speak and write in chinese. No I'm not chinese. I had dreams about it.
