Moving abroad isn't always a dream, and this week, I'm sharing a massive reality check from my life here in Da Lat, Vietnam. After renting a house that turned out to be completely unliveable due to noise, my landlord refused to return my deposit. Instead, I was backed into a corner and forced to accept this tiny flat. It's... rubbish. It's dark, dingy, and tucked deep inside a dense local neighbourhood where the houses are stacked right on top of each other. You can hear every single conversation, every business operating, and everything in between. But here’s the twist: it is technically less noisy than the house, so I guess I'm out of the frying pan and into the fire. Still, feeling trapped in a 3-month contract is an expat lesson learned the hard way. I'm finally realizing that sometimes you just have to cut your losses, let the deposit go, and start fresh. My goal now? Get out of the city centre and find peace out in the beautiful nature surrounding Da Lat. Spot on buddy, if only the UK had the same rules. And our guests had your attitude.
I think that is wonderful that they serve their own people first , he perhaps thinks you're a tourist and not a resident , but I still think he's doing the correct thing serving his own people before someone who is a guest in their own country , maybe the UK 🇬🇧🏴 should take a leaf out of their book ! 😊
Governments in the UK turn foreigners into UK nationals with platinum status within a week of them landing by boat or by visa
The drying beans - The householder might think the school children accidentally knocked them over. If you were really worried about it, you could've bought a pack of beans from a local shop to replace the spilt ones.
Them serving their own is great, could never happen in the UK as much as people might want, how would that even work.
In Vietnam, China and other Asian countries a person needs money to afford a quiet neighborhood. In America and UK a person needs money to afford a safe neighborhood. I was in China in a very run down area, old apartments, grungy area and it dawned on me that it was safe. In America a street like that would be full of people living on welfare and very dangerous.
The only human who would feed an effin cockroach 😂😂😂
Nothing worse than a tourist saying they aren't a tourist.
Signed yourself up for a nice bit of karma regarding the kidney bean hit and run 👍

The 'walk of shame' is funny 😁 I think I might just stump up the 30p for a drink if it was me 🤣
I know it's a different situation with noise and people pissing you off compared to other people but weirdly sometimes it makes places more interesting, like talking with those kids was great for them and its a nice thing to do for them to practice their english as an example....
Do you get many cockroaches in the accommodation because I wouldn't sleep knowing there's creepy crawlies all over the house 😮
The candyfloss seller isn't too different from the ice-cream van with it's jingles.
Rap is crap without the “C” Anger is danger without the “D” Said this before but if you try Po Chai pills, ( if you can find them there !) they’re made in Hong Kong so you would think you could, it destroys diarrhoea in literally 30-40 minutes and it’s all natural, no chemicals.
I thought it was near impossible to kill a cockroach. Can't they survive a nuke? Obviously no oxygen would do the trick.
Laughter , smiles and fingers 🙏❤️👌😂
Nope ! I don't agree with you Tom ?? You are a customer mate ? They need your cash ??
