The biggest mistake I corrected after my first 8 cruises was having dinner reservations for the first seating. I was missing all of the sail aways and sunsets . Now I enjoy the sail aways and sunsets from each port stop. Then go to dinner 😊
Which cruise habit do you think experienced cruisers should stop doing?
We started cruising in 2023 and decided that we wanted to try different lines to see which one fits us best and, to your point, all 4 lines we have been on has been a great time in different ways. Even when we went from line to line we were careful not to compare and just enjoy what each ship offered. Truthfully that is one of the things that annoys about some cruise-tubers, when they spend the whole video comparing it to “what they’re used to”. Sometimes we book for the destinations and sometimes the destination is the ship, that’s one of the things we like about cruising.
I won’t consider any “animal” centric excursions for one simple reason. The animals aren’t in their natural environment and seem to me, particularly a dolphin experience, are animal abuse. Dolphins don’t interact with humans naturally. They are captive and trained to interact with. This isn’t normal or kind to the animals no matter how well cared for. These are wild animals and should remain as such. Not caged, captive and abused by humans even if simply touching them.
You’re one of maybe five different influencers that I watch on YouTube. And my primary enjoyment is watching cruise type content. But I got a woman that I’ve become stale as most report and say almost the exact same stuff every content. However, I was pleasantly surprised that your take. I find it refreshingly interesting and helpful. I’ve been on probably 30 cruises in the last 30 years and really resonated with me your message. Thank you for thinking outside the box. And thank you for taking a risk of putting contact that is very different than what everybody else is doing.
Thank you for being the most professional and intuitive for these cruises!
Refreshing and relevant video! Breaking free from the endless versions of cruise video monotony out there! Well done!
Omg! The swimming with the dolphin content really resonated with me. We have been cruising since 1998 and have always skipped it for the exact same reason - cheesy and touristy. Because of what you said, I really think that we'll give it a try on our upcoming cruise in November. Thank you again for your excellent, informative videos! ☺
Nice ad for Royal Caribbean 😂
My hubby and I watched our daughter's family swim with dolphins and thoroughly enjoy it. The next year my sister and I decided maybe we should give it a try. We had such a blast!
51 days and counting until Jewel 💎 of the Seas. Going to Nassau, Bahamas 🇧🇸 Royal Caribbean private beach Island and looking forward to snorkeling again at CoCo Cay.
I used to think that the dolphins excursions were a ripoff until 2000 when I took my then 15 year of twins to the encounter in Nassau and we all loved it - even bought the video of the encounter. 26 years later who cares what I spent for this once in a lifetime excursion. I used to love the two night Carnival cruises to nowhere out of NYC. I miss those! In December I took a three. Ight NCL cruise out of Miami as a cheap way ($180!) to get to the next loyalty level and had a great time.
Really good points. I've been on 8 Princess cruises and just returned from my first HAL cruise. I kept on reminding myself over the first few days not to see HAL in reference to Princess but just to experience it fresh and on its own. It's hard, because we're wired to think comparatively. But such thinking only diminishes enjoyment. At the end, I was able to identify what I thought each line does especially well (for me), compare those lists, and ask myself which aspects are most important to me. I look forward to sailing on both again, but in different sets of circumstances.
There’s no “one size fits all” when it comes to cruising. We live far enough from any cruise port that the airfare is the major cost. Would never pay that kind of airfare and only go on a 3 or 4 day cruise. It has to be 7 or more days. We have started to do B2B cruises because it is more economical. Not to mention that B2B cruises are really great.😊
Even though Royal gives you the most , it is not my cup of tea . Used to in the past . Loyalty goes depending on your needs and time of my life . I took my first cruise back in the 70 ‘ .
Star Water on Quantum in May 2026 is totally different than it was in November 2025. It is much better now.
Have you done a scavenger hunt?
Sail away over-rated!
A booze cruise is only good for a weekend of binge drinking for someone that lives close to a port. For anyone else they are HORRIBLE. Now if it is a test
