Southern China After Dark: Endless Delicious Street Food, Busy Night Market, Eating Fried Scorpions

Travel and Events

In this video, we explore the lively night streets of Nanning, a vibrant city in Southern China. As the neon lights come on, the night market quickly fills with young people looking for cheap and delicious late-night food after work and school. If morning markets are loved by older generations, then night markets are truly a paradise for young food lovers. This bustling Chinese night market is packed with authentic Southern Chinese street food, including Stuffed Pancake Cakes, crispy fried tofu, honey-glazed ribs, street steak, garlic scallops with vermicelli, oyster omelets, stuffed rice noodle rolls, fruit ice cream, sweet tofu pudding, and many other local snacks. Southern Chinese night markets are also known for bizarre foods like fried scorpions and fried centipedes. More than food, they feel like a challenge of courage 😅 In this video, I finally worked up the bravery to try them myself. Beyond the food, the crowded streets, fun carnival games, and energetic local atmosphere perfectly capture the unique nightlife culture of Southern China. 00:00 Video Highlights 01:37 Market Map 02:04 Arriving at the Night Market 02:34 Stuffed Pancake Cakes 04:15 Tangy Vegetables & Flavored Potatoes 05:57 Crispy Fried Tofu 07:44 Honey-Glazed Ribs & Bacon Avocado 11:22 Affordable Street Steak 13:08 Garlic Scallops with Vermicelli 15:11 Fruit Ice Cream & Beef Scallion Pancakes 19:38 Fried Scallion Pancakes, Soy Milk & Sweet Tofu Pudding 21:39 Sweet & Savory Grilled Chicken Wings & Stuffed Rice Noodle Rolls 24:49 Soy Sauce Vegetable Fried Rice 26:55 Trying Fried Scorpions & Fried Centipedes 29:30 Oyster Omelet 30:55 Ball Toss Bottle Game
