My dad was in Mexico in like the 80s, he also travleled trough asia and alot of other countries all over the world except for maybe Africa i think. He still swears to this day, that Mexico has the best food in the world, and its not even close, We tried a Mexican Michelin restaurant in Barcelona and he literly say that the food is better coming from some dirty old street vendor he had in the 80s. I really really wanna go there one day.

the lesson is mexican food, and so many vendors, are better than most food vendors in the world. i know he's looking at a curated sample. but still. when i went to mexico the best thing i ever ate was a chicken mole from some old lady in a city square in oaxaca. i still think about it.
Dude, here's the thing. That barbacoa you tasted its their own state or town's version. Off the top of my mind you have the one you tasted, Hidalgo style, Guadalajara style, and everyone claims their style is the best. Your rating would help settle once and for all, who has the best barbacoa in the whole country. As if you needed another reason to come back to eat with us.
