I was so confused until I realized you’re not putting right handed people in when you take people out now it makes more sense

I was just like: 1 person has to be 2% And 1/50 is 2% So 50 people need to leave to make it 50 people So its 50

I mean you could just transfer -100 to right side and 9800x to left side and solve equation rather than adding 100 on both sides

Very quick indeed

Bro really found a way to use the math we learned in school 😭🙏

It took me a second to realize why it wasn’t 1, but it’s because whenever a person leaves, it doesn’t mean they are replaced by someone who is right handed. In doing so this decreases the denominator and the capacity of the room so that it’s never out of 100 so percentages can’t be done as easily.

an easier sol would be that bcs of the fact that the non lefties will remain the same (1) and ve want it to become %2 of the total the total should be 50 and -1 is 49 hence the answer is 50

took me a while to wrap my head around that

So glad that you explained that. Now can you explain the explanation? Cuz I’m lost lol

Left 99 / 1 Right = 99% Left 98 / 2 Right = 98%, but we have 1 to many right handed. So divide by 2 Left 49 / 1 Right = 98% Then 99 - 49 = 50

I'd actually really simple! *Proceeds to write the declaration of independence on paper*

What teachers expect us to do when they tell us what's 2+2 and show your working out

The way that my brain things about it is.. theres only 1% of people that are right handed. You need that percent to double. So, you just send half of the people out of the room, so that the "share" of that one person doubles to 2%.

This sounded so easy I knew I was gonna get wrong lol

irmela_bärer 1 week, 4 days ago

It actually works if you remove only 3. It doesn't say it has to be exactly 98% .

I knew instantly using this method. 98% is only possible with 50 people leaving the room because 1 of 50 is 98%

How to answer a easy question in a very convoluted manner...

I literally just did it in my head. The equation looks more complicated.
