Sir Isaac Newton: Unhappy Scientific Genius | Full Documentary | Biography

Just because he didn’t marry or have children does not mean that he was unhappy.

As an autistic person, I would like to point out that some people who have studied Newton have theorized that Newton himself was autistic. I’m personally not that great when it comes to mathematics and science. I prefer history, English, art/music and geography, but that just goes to show that different people with autism have different strengths. Isaac Newton is one of my heroes regardless.

I read a story about a complex problem that a mathematician of Newton's time put forth that would take someone at least four months to solve. Newton solved it in a weekend. His power of concentration was phenomenal. I don't know if you could say that Newton was "unhappy." He did feel more comfortable with numbers and ideas than with people.

I really wish A&E would go back to doing the biography shows. This was such a well-produced and informative episode.

"He was known to have laughed only once in his life, when asked what possible use geometry could be." My favorite part of this documentary that literally made me laugh OUT LOUD!! I replayed that part like 4 times. Seriously, great documentary, thoroughly enjoyed, admirations to the creators.

Please more videos on geniuses. Even if they're a little bit obscure. The people need to be educated.

I also grew up with learning disabilities. It was a nightmare. But my favorite subjects had to do with, history, social studies and music.

I disagree that he was unhappy or unloved. He was obviously loved or he wouldn't have had such a send off at the end of his life. His difficulty with humans seems to be from society trying to force him into a mold of their liking. They couldn't understand him as he was not like them. He enjoyed his solitude with his studies, that shows he was happy. Unhappy people are not interested in anything and can't stand to be alone. Also, I imagine his peers felt threatened by his intellect and so he faced petty and unnecessary confrontation and criticism, which probably surprised and confused him. That would drive anyone mad. He lived around a bunch of jerks. Finally they all recognized him for what he was, a genius that gave them a valuable gift. RIP Isaac.

Newton was an extradinary mind, one I have always found fascinating. Thanks for this documentary. ❤️

I love 90s TV documentaries so much. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it could be my nostalgia for that time.

Most geniuses become reclusive because their tolerance for those who don’t or won’t understand their intelligence is too frustrating. Plus deep thinking takes space that can’t be interrupted

Most highly intelligent people are sensitive of world around and within themselves. Always seeking answers to questions that those around don't always have a common interest. All humans are intelligent, some more then others. It's how they are received that they are accepted by peers. We learn differently as we're all individual people.

Its crazy to think I can watch this man's whole life. And in 100 yrs I wonder if ppl will look back at YouTube comments and see how ppl were in the past.

People who like deep thinking avoid people because it seems uninteresting to them. They are nevertheless happy in their ways of life
